Obama on sports
He did a call to a Chicago sport talk radio show (McCain had called in to the same show a while back). Transcript at http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/668

Key quote:
On the role of the federal government in sports drug scandals:
Obama: “I gotta admit seeing a lot of congressional hearings about steroid use, it is not probably the best use of congressional time. I would have my attorney general investigate possibly a college football playoff system via executive order.”

Tongue-in-cheek, but I like the sentiment.

I now know of two (or three, depnding on how you count two sentences) things that Obama has said that I agree with.

RE: Obama on sports
Whichever ticket wins in 2008, we're looking at a ticket that probably isn't a big fan of the BCS. Obama (Occidental/Columbia/Harvard) and Biden (Delaware/Syracuse Law School) mostly are for the little schools (maybe Obama has some Big 10 leanings and Biden perhaps Penn State?). McCain (Navy) and Palin (Idaho) are probably even less of a BCS fan than Obama-Biden. Maybe McCain is a Pac-10 guy but Palin may not even follow any sports besides hockey.

Plus compare that to Bush-Cheney and Clinton-Gore who helped get us into the BCS mess. Clinton-Gore are SEC guys, Dubya may have gone to an Ivy League school but he's a Big 12 guy, and I'm convinced Cheney is the mastermind behind the BCS evil empire.
