CUSA and Sun Belt thought to be worse than MAC
The front page of espn.com's college football site has a poll asking, "Which is the worst conference in college football?"

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/index

Big East - 27%
CUSA - 14%
MAC - 10%
Sun Belt - 40%
WAC - 9%

Out of nearly 6,000 votes

RE: CUSA and Sun Belt thought to be worse than MAC
Sagarin's ratings say we're better than the Sun Belt and the Independents, but his rankings are still in bayesian mode. I think it switches to unbiased mode after this week, and then we should see a significant shuffle when it comes to where the conferences stand.

Code:
1  SOUTHEASTERN        (A) =  80.86      80.78  (  1)     12
2  BIG 12              (A) =  78.15      78.19  (  2)     12
3  ATLANTIC COAST      (A) =  77.38      77.01  (  5)     12
4  BIG TEN             (A) =  77.37      77.55  (  4)     11
5  PAC-10              (A) =  76.86      77.63  (  3)     10
6  BIG EAST            (A) =  74.34      73.11  (  6)      8
7  MOUNTAIN WEST       (A) =  71.89      72.52  (  7)      9
8  CONFERENCE USA      (A) =  64.14      64.21  (  8)     12
9  WESTERN ATHLETIC    (A) =  62.72      63.51  (  9)      9
10 MID-AMERICAN        (A) =  62.20      62.26  ( 10)     13
11 I-A INDEPENDENTS    (A) =  62.04      61.59  ( 11)      4
12 SUN BELT            (A) =  59.65      60.08  ( 12)      8

CUSA has only played 15 BCS schools compared to the MAC's 23. If i remember correctly, the MAC has more games against BCS competition in our OOC schedules than any other conference.

Take ECU out of C-USA and they're likely below us or MUCH closer.
