There are nowhere near the signs in people's yards or bumperstickers on cars. I live in a pretty red area. In 2004 you couldn't go two houses without seeing a Bush/Cheney sign. I haven't seen very many McCain signs or Obama's for that matter. It just seems like people are fatigued with politics. I know I'm nowhere near as excited as I was in 2000 or 2004.

It's because you don't have Bush to vote against combined with having 2 candidates that you don't hate/love.

I'm kind of in the same boat, though I'm fastly approaching the voting against Obama as exciting place.

The signs are being printed as we speak. The number of signs posted increases starting the first week of October.

Every 4 years I hear the same thing. When 20 people run for office, and it comes down to 2, some people are going to be upset. We don't have to turn each side into some kind of demon hellbent on destroying america.

The media have turned elections into circuses. The proliferation of media (24 hr news, internet) has made it worse.
We as a society have gorged ourselves on entertainment. Like eating too much candy, we're sick from the experience.
I'd like to think it will push people into a more thoughtful place, a more intellectually mature place...but that's wishful thinking. What people believe to be rigorous, critical thought is typically more of the same hyped claptrap. To extend the candy analogy further, people eat the intellectual equivalent of candy corn and believe they've consumed a vegetable.

Its still better than getting your info from campaign advertisments.

Ummmm....maybe these campaigns are going green....saving a tree and the protected owl living in it.... Preventing global warming, maybe?

Or maybe there's a lack of enthusiasm among us little people.

The GOP had several viable choices - too bad Rudy and Romney got kicked to the curb.

The democrats....they don't have a decent candidate at all with the exception of Lieberman.

RE: Has Anybody Else Noticed This?
Step #1: Ignore the media.
Step #2: Ignore the silly campaign ads.
Step #3: Think about the issues, where you stand on the issues, and how you prioritize the issues.
Step #4: Go to each candidate's website read where they stand on the issues.
Step #5: Choose the candidate whose take on the issues most aligns with yours.
Step #6: Vote!

People still have their Kerry Edwards '04 stickers up here like some weird badge of honor.

"See? I didn't vote for Bush."
