Only a double digit IQ would expect to hear something that is written.03-idea

Thanks for catching the spelling Kent State grad.

Who is catching the spelling? I guess you must have a double digit IQ to have that one fly over your head.

OU looked really speedy on TV-close to as fast as OSU. Nhey need receivers that can catch the ball...I know they were robbed against a good Wyoming team...beat NW and I guarantee they will make a bowl game.

We have the talent but I'm afraid turnovers will be our undoing this year.

NW game worries me. They looked strong versus Syracuse.

RE: Let's Go Bobcats!
Ohio Bobcats played their hearts out today. They lost their starying QB early and still hung around until late in the 4th quarter. $750k and leading Overated State for three quarters was well worth playing this game. This should help the preception of the MAC. Ohio like the Wyoming game game this game away in the 4th with unforced errors. Ohio defense did a spectacular job today. Ohio made some critical mistakes with the fumbled punt ,giving up the punt return and some forced passes. If those plays don't happen it would have been Ohio State's first lost to a MAC school. Fatigue and pressure likely caught up to the Bobcats as well as Ohio State o-line wearing down the d enough to get some points. Very few penalties from the Bobcats today so the team is improving. This should give them some confidence with CMU coming into town.

RE: Let's Go Bobcats!
I know many people don't like talking about "moral victories", but Ohio can still feel like 'winners' today, despite the outcome. OSU - with their endless budget, endless blue chip recruits, endless media attention and endless legions of bandwagon fans - squeaked by Ohio on a couple of freakish/lucky 4th quarter plays.

And if this were the Miami of old (say, 4-6 years ago), Michigan - another NFL Lite football factory - would be 0-2 right now.

Good games today, OU and MU. I wish our game with Nebraska last week provided the same closely-fought late game thrills that your games did.

Miami, Ohio and Temple each with hard fought losses this week to BCS teams. EMU lost big, CMU overmatched at Georgia so far, Akron leading a terrible Syracuse team. MAC is better than the record will show today.

Its going to help the MAC in the computer ratings.

The Big Ten is also having a very good day overall outside of its MAC contests. A strong Big Ten helps the MAC in the ratings.

Unbelievable effort by the Bobcats from a BG fan here! I had a hard on at the prospect of OSU losing to OU I was so happy! Ohio State eventually lose to a team from inside of Ohio...it's only a matter of time.

RE: Let's Go Bobcats!
all the close losses by the MAC today are very frustrating

a loss is a loss, by 1 point or 30 points

this is not going to earn us any more repect as a conference until we win these

Of course, if this was any of the last 2 -3 seasons we lose all these games big. SO i DO see improvement in the overall play in the MAC.

RE: Let's Go Bobcats!
Guys, thanks for all of the MAC support from yesterday's close calls (OU, MU, and TU). i know all of our fans appreciate that.

personally, i couldn't be more proud of my Bobcats from their effort yesterday. i know after all is said and done it's still a loss and we're still 0-2 but somehow it feels like a win. we had them down and scared to death. i was at the game and i saw the fear in the eyes of their fans and in the body language of their team. the end of the game brought a sense of relief to them a lot more than it brought a sense of happiness for their victory. it was truly a great feeling for me, despite the loss. a strange dichotomy of emotions, for sure!

anyway, thanks again for the MAC support and i think we're going to see these big near-wins become actual wins in the very near future. As one poster said here, it's only a matter of time before OSU and the other big schools lose to a MAC team. i think now it's getting closer than ever!

GO OHIO!

GO MAC!!

Didn't listen to any of the game but came across Tressle talking on radio after saying that they got away with a clip on a returned punt for TD. Must have been obvious to everybody but the refs.

RE: Let's Go Bobcats!
I can not say that I am happy even though we played OSU down to the wire like we did. Without all those interceptions and the botched return, we would have had OSU and that represented a huge opportunity to raise the status of Ohio football. The sad truth is that the the huge effort we put out in Ohio Stadium will likely be soon forgotten to everyone outside the MAC and we still missed out on a key opportunity to take the buckeyes out. There are a lot of things that have to go in our favor to allow us to beat a team like State and a lot of these things did happen for this game. Key player being hurt, big opponent the following game, other things such as our loss to Wyoming to make OSU overlook us even further, us playing a stronger opponent and OSU playing a weak opponent the previous game, etc. I just don't know if everything is going to work out in our favor in 2010 when we get our next shot. And now OSU will be expecting us to give them a battle so I think they will come better ready to play.

Again, very happy with how inspired we played out there and that we won some respect as a football team, just wish we could have finished them off because we were in the position to pull it off if we didn't beat ourselves with mistakes.

On the other hand, the fact that I am even thinking this way tells you something about the state of MAC football. The bar is definitely consistently being raised year after year.

I knew that Ohio FB was on the rise the day they hired Frank. That was a very smart move. Bobcats looked good and were not over powered. On a national basis, more and more people are seeing the sham that the BCS really is.

RE: Let's Go Bobcats!
Thanks for the words of encouragement GFlash68. I think the one thing that stuck out the most in my mind about the comments I heard about us in this game is that our team speed matched up pretty well with Ohio State. That sure was not the case in 1999. With every BCS team the MAC takes out, we get closer and closer to forcing them to change the system so after focusing all of our attention on CMU, we have got to try and take out Northwestern next. 04-chairshot

I went to the game Saturday. Great game for the Cats. Amazing atmosphere. Our fans adding 'U' after the O-H-I-O cheer was classic. The team played their a$$es off. Came up short at the end but it was a game to be proud of. That game totally changes my pereption of the season. I was predicting 5-7 or 6-6 for our overall record. I definitely see us now as a 7-8 win team and competing for the East title. No let down against Central!

Gooch, i totally agree with everything you said! that U after the O-H-I-O truly was classic and it even had some of the OSU fans who were sitting near me laughing at it!

i REALLY agree with the last thing you said and it's the one thing that really concerns me about the CMU game...NO LET DOWN AGAINST CENTRAL! i'm sure OUr guys realize Central is a tough team and they need to be mentally ready as well as physically ready for the game.

i think now that they've seen they can compete with the big boys, Coach Solich will have their full attention and things will continue to get better from here!
