Republican Youth Majority
I just googled pro Choice Republicans and came to this site. (http://www.rym.org/index-2.html) I don't know if I believe this but according to this site

The decision to have an abortion should be between a woman, her doctor, and her family. The Government should not be involved in making such a personal decision.”

69% of Republicans Stongly Agree
11% of Republicans Somewhat Agree
80% of Republicans asked agreed that abortion is every woman’s personal choice!

I've been struggling with this. I'm fiscally conservative but socially liberal. It's been my experience that Republican's own the issue of fiscal responsibility in theory but in reality are horrible. I don't know. I think Democratic policies have destroyed the inner city. I'm nowhere near as enthralled with Democrats after living in Cleveland for 6 months. I guess I'm a person without a party. I'll still lean D because there is no way A D can be as destructive economically as a Republican can be destructive socially. Why would the Republican party put such a devisive issue as abortion as a plank?

Look at those other issues. Pro Education. Pro environement. This is literally me.

What do you guys think.

I could be part of that movement if I wasn't so fed up with most things "Republican." Abortion is a messed up issue for me. I hate the idea of it, but what happens if we outlaw it. I don't know what to think about it.

if 80% of Republicans agree that abortion is a private choice. Why do they have it as a plank? They gather around the social issues.

RE: Republican Youth Majority
The "values voters" have *way* too much influence in the GOP. That's not say there aren't elements in the GOP trying to change that.

- Campaign For Liberty ( http://www.campaignforliberty.org )
- Republican Liberty Caucus ( http://www.rlc.org )
- Liberty PAC ( http://www.libertypac.net )
- American Liberty Coalition PAC ( http://www.alcpac.com )

There's some non-partisan efforts as well with pretty much identical goals:
- CATO Institute ( http://www.cato.org )
- Downsize DC ( http://www.downsizedc.org )
- Freedomworks ( http://www.freedomworks.org )
