RE: Ron Paul backers on suicide watch!
What are you talking about? This entire movement wouldn't exist if the Republicans kept acting like they did after Perot scared the bejesus out of them in '92. Or if they kept acting like they did during Barry Goldwater and early Ronald Reagan. Or Robert Taft.

A GOP that demonstrates REAL FISCAL conservatism (balancing the budget, eliminating the debt, curbing social programs ... and crazy mad bonus points for the gold standard and elimination of the Fed and Fair Tax) and real CIVIL RIGHTS (no warrantless wiretapping, no domestic spying, no warrantless search and seizure, the return of habeus corpus) is a GOP I can support and vote for. Regardless of whose name happens to pushing that agenda.

Will Paul support McCain? Fat effing chance. McCain would have to an about face an STAGGERING amount of his platform.
- Cap and trade
- Fiscal policy
- Foreign policy
- Medicare/Medicaid
- Campaign Finance
- ANWR Drilling
- Domestic spying
- Habeus Corpus
- Immunity to telcos

The list goes ON... AND ON....

Did you read the linked story? 03-confused

Quote:McCain in talks with Ron Paul for backing

Quote:The McCain campaign, acting through the Republican National Committee, has been negotiating with Rep. Ron Paul to win his support and acquire the names of his sympathizers among the 4,607 delegates and alternates at the Republican National Convention, according to a senior aide to the Texas congressman.

That's what I'm talking about. Haven't you learned I'm just a touch sarcastic with posts like this? I was wondering IF McCain pulled off a miracle and got Paul's support how this would be received.

Dude you're trying to reason with a guy who posted that the republicans and democrats missed the filing deadline in Texas and would only be on the ballot after "the cheating" took place.01-wingedeagle
