Obama's Bounce?
The latest polls from CNN, Gallup, and Rasmussen show Obama got some where between a 0 and 4% bounce. I thought Biden was the grand slam VP pick. I thought the Clintons painted the perfect picture of unity in Denver. I thought Obama's speech energized the "base"?
Could it be Obama is poised to follow other Democrat "greats" like Gore and Kerry.

Maybe but Gore and Kerry didn't draw ratings of 40 million people to watch their acceptance speech. I don't understand the significance of the popular vote polls anyway when it's clear that it's the electoral college that determines the presidency. McCain negated some of the bounce with his bold pick of Palin.
Let's see how many people watch McCain's speech Thursday, and let's see what the polls are suggesting in the critical states like Ohio, PA, Michigan, Florida, Virginia and Missouri, among others.

This election is going to be decided by 4 to 6 states, probably the ones you named, and probably in about that order of importance. I've said that taking 3 of the first 4 you list would win it, and I still believe that.
I can't imagine that McCain will get the size viewing audience that Obama did. I'm guessing he's not planning on it. If the numbers continue to suggest that Obama got an underwhelming "bounce" out of his, I'm not sure how much difference that will make.

What I find interesting is not that people are either voting for their own party or against a particular candidate, it's that in the most widely publicized political event in history there are people who, after a year of campaigning, still haven't decided on who they will vote for.

Before Palin, I was voting against Obama. After Palin, I'm voting for McCain.
