I got the dreaded fall wedding invite again this year and thank god its Oct 25th which is not a Bobcat football saturday.....I guess the tuesday nite ESPN TV game worked out for me this year. I haven't check what other major games are that week. This happens to be near state college pa and not a penn state home weekend....That would have been expensive and hard to get a room. Once had the dreaded fall wedding during the Ohio-State Texas game..... I effectively used the restroom excuse to sneak away from the dance floor and prompty hid in the bar with the game on.

Fall should be declared legally off limits by the Football Saturday Act of 2008.

I'm having my wedding in the fall this year, but it's on a sunday! Nobody around here complains about missing a lions game.

I got married on a Saturday last fall in Akron. Of course it was two days after Ohio played @ Akron. So using my wedding as an exuse, a bunch of my friends got to catch the game too. Not that it ended well, but thats another story. How's that for an exception to the no weddings in the fall rule?

=>Nope. Not acceptable excuse. Even if everyone at your wedding were only OU and UA fans, the men still would rather be watching other games on the tele.
I hate to tell you this, but your marriage will be a disaster because God hates all fall weddings. True statistic: 100% of all fall weddings end in either 1) death, 2) divorce, or 3) annulment.
God on Saturday wants to sit on his reclinable lazy boy and catch the game.
For the record, fall weddings is why the Catholic Church is having a hard time getting new priests.

My niece is getting married on the day of the Toledo game--homecoming. OK, church at 2:30 in Woodridge, kick-off at 2, can make the third quarter, and miss the first half hour of the reception.

Technically, my wedding was a fall wedding, but it was mid-December and on a Friday night long before there were college football games on Friday nights. It's only been 35 years so far, but I imagine divorce COULD happen if I keep pissing her off.

If my friends complained about something like this, I'd have to reconsider my friendship with them.

=>If your friends had to go to your wedding that you scheduled in the fall, they would not be your friends much longer!
