If I were in Vegas..
and betting with my head and not my heart...

I apologize up front if this has been covered or even touched upon in earlier threads but I am late to the game...

The line tells me that we are getting 8. 8. Ok, I understand that Minn. may suck and I also understand that they lost last year to BG, but..and this is a huge but:

We were 2-10 last year and we play in the MAC (I am speaking amongst Huskies' here..so please allow me),- we have changed coaches, we don't really know who are qb is and it may be a freshman (or a under achieving injured guy), we are playing the Big 10 at the Big 10...Um, we don't win those games. Further, Minnesota, as horrid as they are...can and do out recruit us anytime and any place...their 2008 class rocked, period.

Remember, I wont sleep from excitement if we manage to win...I am loyal as they come, but I think I am a realist.

If Vegas calls and we put our money to test...we really believe that we stay (about) within a TD at Minnesota? On the record....Oh, do I hope I am wrong (and I admit that I have no idea how we look thus far in camp), but I think the lines makers are giving Minn betters some $.

Prove me wrong Huskies..and pave the way for a huge breakout Kill season.

But what have the Gophers ever done to make them that much better than us? Playing in the Big 10 isn't an answer.

RE: If I were in Vegas..
I will never bet against us so I wont make the bet but I'll go on record saying that I believe 8 points are too short. Hope I'll be proven wrong.

Playing in the Big 10 SHOULDN'T be the answer but it always appears to be on our end. Beat a horribly bad Big 10 team and perhaps Kill can right this wrong....lose again and 'playing in the Big 10' is an unfortunate answer.

NIU has managed to hang with a better NU team with a better NIU team, we hung with a weak Iowa team with what proved to be a weak NIU team in 2007, just maybe the Huskies can get over the hump in the dome.

No doubt, this line is way overinflated for this game and I was even tempted to due a little wagering which I never do.

If I totally remove myself from the situation and be objective, I'd take Minnesota and the points in a heartbeat.

RE: If I were in Vegas..
Let's get real - if everyone here knew that DN was starting and we were going to put up at least 30 points, we would ALL be looking to put money down on our beloved Huskies. How many points we score is going to be the issue. I think our defense, even with a new scheme, is going to hold their own.
