Newstand editions of SI football preview forecasts Huskies at 4-4 in MAC and third in West finishing 5-7 overall & that seems to be the best finish Ive found for NIU from any of the "experts."

Did they give a game by game? I'd guess:

L at Minnesota
L at Western Michigan
W vs. Indiana State
W at Eastern Michigan
L at Tennessee
W vs. Miami
W vs. Toledo
L vs. Bowling Green
L at Ball State
L vs. Central Michigan
W at Kent State
L vs. Navy

I can't wait for this season to see what we really have with Kill. There are 11 winable games on that schedule (Tennessee) and 11 loseable games also (Indiana State).

There is something special about Kill, the man knows how to get things done. Obviously Im not close to the team or anything, but from all the quotes I've seen and stuff of that nature, it does appear has has breathed some new life into the program.

lets not forget our sister program down in champaign that went 2-10 in '06, was predicted to win 4-5 games in '07 and went to the rose bowl. could we see some deja vu? ok so we are not going to the rose bowl... but if we won 9 games i would probably piss myself from the exuberance. i agree maddawgz, only tennessee looks like a game we cant win (which is most likely the only game i will be attending, unfortunately). 'sota and navy would be nice wins for sure.

There will be no wetting of any pants this season.:

The only bowl I foresee for my beloved 2008 Huskies is the Porcelain Bowl.

If we're healthy, I think Navy is a winnable game for us. Despite all the injuries last year, we hung with them, almost matching them point for point until the 4th quarter when Navy pulled away. I honestly think we have a decent shot of beating the Midshipmen come November.

Looks pretty close to me. Between Miami, Toledo, and BG all at home, I can only see us getting 1 of those 3 wins.

If you go purely by the chalk, I don't see how we beat Testicle Tech on the road. They're going to be damn good this year.
