Walter Maddox, a former UAB football player from 1991-1994 and an avid UAB supporter, is running for mayor in Tuscaloosa of all places. Walter is from Tuscaloosa and currently is a city councilman in Tuscaloosa. I roomed with Walter during our years at UAB, and we go to practically all football games together. Walter has a good shot at winning the mayoral race and would appreciate all Blazer2483support. He can be reached at the following address:

The Committee to Elect Walter Maddox
P.O. Box 2483
Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35403-2483

Go BLAZERS!

Maybe he will adorn the mayoral offices in Tuscaloosa with green and gold when he's elected :D

Obviously, the "dirty little secret" that he played for UAB has not been made public, or he would not stand a chance in the world of being elected in Tuscaloosa.

It would be easier electing Pat Buchanan governor of Vermont or Massachussetts.

By the way, welcome Blazer4life. Just so everyone is clear, we now have Blazr4life and Blazer4life. Its going to get confusing.

Blazr4life - has alternate identity
Blazer4life - has friend who wants to be mayor of Tuscaloosa.

Though Walter is proud of his UAB background, I do not think that he uses it in his stump speeches to the UAT crowd. However, when it comes to Saturday's you will find him at Legion field.

Good catch there. I was beginning to wonder how old Daniel really was. Walter was a senior my first year at UAB and I knew that Daniel was MUCH young than I am~! Best of luck to the guy! Hope he wins!

That won't fly well with the Tuscaloosa aristocrats.
