Greg LeMond won the tour de france twice after being shot in the back with a shotgun with 37 shot gun pellets in his body (two in the lining of his heart). Rocky Blier was a 16th round draft pick who followed his rookie season by being drafted by the army to serve in Vietnam. He was shot in the left leg and had a grenade explode under his right foot. He went on to start in four super bowls. Tiger Woods played in a golf tournement after a knee operation.
