DON'T BUY YOUR TICKETS FROM UT! Get them from http://www.UABsports.com

The point of this post: UT apparently feels the the UAB game will well-attended as they have boosted the price of UT-UAB tickets above the OOC Cupcake range to the SEC Cupcake range:

From the Commercial Appeal:
Quote:Individual tickets for four Tennessee home football games -- UAB (Sept. 13), Northern Illinois (Oct. 4), Wyoming (Nov. 8) and Kentucky (Nov. 29) -- will be available for purchase online at UTSports.com beginning Monday. Tickets for Northern Illinois and Wyoming are $40 each plus shipping and handling. Tickets for UAB and Kentucky are $50 each plus shipping and handling.

I think I'll post this over on one of the UK sites... let's see how long it takes before one of their die-hards makes a UAB basketball comment...

When is UAB going to make them available.

And the real question, will UT even make any available to UAB to sell to us?

They only gave us 500 the last time. We sold them all and begged for more. They sent 150 more.

THEN UTK announced UAB send back a large part of their allotment which was a lie. UAB fans were forced to buy from UTK and some were scattered in other sections because of this.

BUY through UAB so you will be with the rest of us.

we sold them all. We sold 650 through UAB last time and many more through UTK because UAB fans were forced to scramble for tickets.

I know we bought ours through UAB last time. Don't know that I'll be able to make the trip again this year.

Found out the answer:
Quote:UAB will receive a $750,000 guarantee, the highest UT will pay this season, for the Vols' home-opener Sept. 13 in Knoxville.

Northern Illinois will earn $725,000 for its Oct. 4 game in Knoxville, and Wyoming will earn $500,000 for its Nov. 8 game in Neyland Stadium.

We may be a whore, but at least we're not cheap!

Here's what the UAB website says:
UAB Football Tickets
Quote:Season ticket renewals will be sent out in late April (Deadline is June 27)
New season tickets are on sale now!
Tickets to individual home and away football games will go on sale in August 4th.

We need to make certain UTK is going to provide UAB with tickets. The NCAA only requires schools to provide tickets to conference opponents, not OOC opponents. If UTK decides it wants to sell every single ticket through its ticket office before Aug. 4, then we get left with squat.

$750,000 is a nice payout... anybody know how much we're getting for South Carolina? Probably is going to be closer to $400,000 I would imagine. I know we hate these almost "guarateed losses," but that money sure is good for our budget.

Most contract from SEC's school has a tickets clause in the contract.
Where the visiting school gets a number of tickets and keeps the money/ or part of the money for each ticket sold.
This pays for the administration of selling and mailing the tickets.

last time we played we were given only 500 tickets.

we made an additional request and received 150 more. That was it. The rest of the Blazer fans were forced to buy through UTK and scalpers.
