S. Miss football as a whole has nothing to brag about compared to UNM, sure they have had conf. crowns and a ranked season 10 years ago and the lobos haven't but overall the state of UNM football is way ahead of S. Miss football, we are continuing to prosper. We have a bigger budget, better facilities and a growing fanbase. Heck they only got 2..exactly 2 more wins vs BCS teams than the lobos and that's with us starting from scratch while they have been an established program. Only Houston, S. Miss and ECU have more wins vs BCS teams than the lobos, so what does that tell you about the state of CUSA football?

BTW, UTEP still has ZERO wins vs BCS teams since its creation, utterly pathetic. The lobos are at least being competitive now.

This is where you keep losing your argument. USM has a lot to brag when it comes to football, especially to lesser programs like UNM. Please explain to me, how are you ahead of USM? That "bigger" budget (why don't you tell us the State gives you and NMSU money for athletics?) hasn't translated in success.

And true, UTEP has no wins vs BCS schools since 1998 (the year the cartel was created). UTEP has never been a football school, it's a project AD Bob Stull started from scratch 10 years ago when he was hired. Now, since both our schools are basketball first schools, where are those second rounds and sweet 16's? I think UTEP will beat a BCS school first before the Bobos make any noise in the NCAA's.

I've said it before and I've say it now: C-USA should schedule weak nonBCS schools like the MWAC does. That way our record vs the BCS will be inflated, just like the MWAC's. When the MWAC plays the real BCS superpowers, that's when you get exposed. I'll give you credit for scheduling and beating the weak sisters of the BCS.

Quote:It's funny how you hide behind the MWC's "accomplishments" when UNM has never contributed to any of that. I can understand BYU and Utah fans lecturing us because they've done their part on the field and court but New Mexico? 03-lmfao

You know damn well the NM program is better than the one you know from the WAC year. Our football coach has built UNM football from the ashes. We are doing our part by improving facilities, expansion is looming, we have an Indoor Practice Facility, winning OOC games vs BCS teams(something UTEP doesn't anything about) and growing our fanbase just like every other MWC program.

Stop lying. You haven't done anything impressive in football. I'll give BYU and Utah credit because they're the only schools worth crap in the MWAC. CSU, Wyoming, UNM, AFA, UNLV and SDSU haven't done anything great lately (I'll give TCU a free pass). Especially those schools in San Diego and Las Vegas. Funny, how you say your program was built from the ashes, guess what, UTEP did exactly the same thing. And still, we have the better facilities, the better attendance, the better coach, and we're 2-1 vs the Bobos since the WAC-16 split. We've been ranked during the season in the AP, Coaches and BCS polls. Where's UNM?

C-USA schools are growing their budgets, improving and expanding its facilities and in most cases our fanbase. This is the part why you don't get any respect on this board. You think the MWAC is doing this wonderful things (too bad we don't know, the Eastern and Central time zone states don't give a damn) while you think C-USA schools are being idle. Do some research next time.

Quote:Tell me, when was the last time UNM won a conference championship? Ranked in the top 25 in football during the season? Any BCS rankings? Any major bowl victories (in a bowl that at least pays $1.5 million)? any Sweet 16s? Any recent football sell outs? That $25 million budget you brag about is not taking you anywhere, where the likes of Tulsa or UCF or Memphis or even UTEP have been. .

Our best year we had was 1964 when we won the conf crown and finished ranked #16. That's ancient history and nobody ever brings it up. We are not like UTEP fans who live in the past and brag about that ancient NC. We sold out vs NMSU when they were here last, so what?

Our budget is growing and we make more money now than ever before, more now than what any CUSA team makes currently. Care to dispute this fact?

You're comparing apples to oranges. That's why you lost this argument a long time ago. Being ranked in the 60's is nothing compared to winning a NC. Not just any NC, but the one that changed race relations in college sports. That's why all UTEP fans are proud of that accomplishment, otherwise, it'd be just another record in the sport history books. The media still talks about it, even Disney made a movie two years ago about that important event. I'm sure you hate it.

You make more money than any C-USA school? I think Memphis, East Carolina and UCF (and I think even SMU) could make an argument about that. And even if that's true (which I doubt), you still haven't done anything in both revenue sports. You're nothing compared to Memphis basketball and UTEP, UAB, Tulsa and Houston have a much better resume in the NCAA's than UNM and any MWAC school. Football? Please, you're not even close to Tulsa, Southern Miss, UCF and East Carolina, just to name a few. Heck, you have a losing record from UTEP since this "Rocky Long is doing great things for NMU" crap.

Quote:The only thing you can brag about is packing the Pit, for that, I'll give the Lobos credit

Richie McKay left our basketball program in the toilet, I don't come here and brag about our basketball because it's barely now getting better especially our attendance. It's bad right now yet most CUSA programs can only wish they had similar attendance numbers and fanbase.

Again, your basketball program hasn't done anything in the NCAA's. You'd give your left nut for your program to be where Tulsa, UTEP, UAB, Memphis and Houston have been (Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final Four, NC game, NC title).

I forgot, the State of New Mexico gives $$$$ to its two Div I-A schools, UNM and NMSU. Sure, that's something Loboblast will never tell you, it's not part of his MWC agenda. Next time he says Nuevo Mejico's budget is bigger than many schools, remind him of the $2 million his AD gets from Santa Fe.

I doubt any C-USA schools get any $$ from the State. I know UTEP and Houston don't since it's prohibited by state law.

So what? If he or you want to continue to talk smack between USM and New Mexico I suggest you stop because you guys have nothing on UNM. S. Miss lags behind in just about everything UNM has. UNM is at best a middle of the pack MWC team in terms of some of the facts I just pointed out. Isn't USM one of so called "flagships" in CUSA? Oh but wait....I'm dodging the conference title question right? We'll I'll ask you then why hasn't USM won a conference title now that it has been severely raped and pillaged? You have former MAC and WAC teams now competing for CUSA titles...wow! Don't talk smack about conference titles when you are in a conference with former MAC and WAC teams owning your conference!

Quote: Also, you are the one that hangs out on a CUSA board. How pathetic does that make you?

I hang out here so can tell posters like YOU that S. Miss and CUSA have a long way to catch up to where UNM and the MWC are at! I'll keep reminding you next you talk smack about UNM or MWC! You guys give me plenty of ammo to use by the way.

No Florida school gets anything from the state, not even for athletic building projects. We have self-financed by way of bonds all of our athletic facility improvements.

This comment is even funnier now than it was back then. Losing to Seattle looks great on your tournament resume.

I guess we can forget about La. Tech probably whipping everyone in CUSA except for Memphis. They can't even beat their Women's team.

It appeared that Tech was amassing talent at an unprecedented level. It's very hard to understand how they are this bad... but they are TERRIBLE!! 04-jawdrop

It will not be a case of Grambling outselling your real team EE Northeast. That was really a very sad thing to see and more reason why we won't play your NE. I don't predict a win but with Miss St. stale offensive production, i see this being a close game until the end but Tech could pull this out depending on our qb play. As far as a photo op is concerned this should be proof that if we were in CUSA, we would average just as much as USM if our opponents bring people to the game. We have a decent fan base, just not many opposing fans.

MS State, in your own fans words was the biggest game ever played in Ruston. If was F A R from a sell out. Last time state came to the Rock? SRO.
