Well...isn't that easy to do when your first 2 football seasons in a BCS Conf, Cinci only sold 6,000 or so season tix?
I mean...if a team goes from almost zero attendance to 'some' attendance...attendance will be improved, right?
Cincy is making great strides...
Never said they weren't....I just noted that where they started (very little football support in regards to their their first 2 BCS seasons...2005 and 2006), that it was very easy to improve attendance (in 2007).
Don't be so defensive.

Cincy is making great strides...they might hit 20,000 seasons this year. They have risen up faster than I imagined. Winning and playing Big East teams helped versus being middling and playing CUSA teams. UCF has done great in your new stadium, too. Can't both schools be proud of their attendance growth rather than fans ripping into each other?
And you wonder why Central Florida fans get a bad rap? Apparently KnightLight is into attendance smack. For god knows what reason he was running around ripping UC's season tickets sold last year (even though the sales of season tickets hadn't ended yet), claiming it was 6,000 (which it was in June), and Cincinnati announced their official season tickets sold at close to 12,000 during the SE Missouri game or the Oregon State game, I can't remember. So UC is potentially jumping from just under 12,000 season tickets sold to around 20,000 season tickets sold. But, according to KnightLight that is going from "zero" attendance to "some" attendance. The Big East and nationally they see UC's improvement and that's all that matters. Again, attendance trash-talking is for the weak.
Can anyone count?
I referenced Cinci's first 2 BCS seasons (2005 and 2006...I'll wait here for a few secs as I BOLDED the exact reference above).
I did not mention 2007 season...as that was the season the previous poster commented about improved attendance.

Give me a freaking break. You're telling TexanMark not to be defensive yet you made then inaccurate comment that Cincinnati had "zero" attendance it was easy to improve attendance? Then the inaccurate information that we only had 6,000 season tickets? This is after you ran all over the place posting articles last year about Cincinnati's season tickets sold, with TWO MONTHS LEFT. Between Knightlight and South Tampa Knight they're making Central Florida fans annoying. Would have thought that Central Florida finished the season in the Top 10 with and drew 75,000 fans per game and had a traveling fan base of 50,000.

I can count, but apparently you can't and you can't read.
I referenced Cinci's first 2 BCS seasons (2005 and 2006...I'll wait here for a few secs as I BOLDED the exact reference above).
Then only reason you referenced our first two season was because you were cackling and making stupid posts about our attendance last year:
http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=238546
What does 2005 and 2006 have to do with the fact that Cincinnati has had a huge boost in 2007 and 2008?
I did not mention 2007 season...as that was the season the previous poster commented about improved attendance.
You didn't mention it because you were railing about UC's season tickets sold that year and got corrected, but didn't admit you were wrong. I have to ask though, why does a Central Florida fan care about Cincinnati's attendance? I sure as hell couldn't care about Central Florida.
I realize that not everyone is actually that bright...but I did think a majority of you were.

Pretty ironic that you say that considering you never "gave props" for reading my accurate information, when you accused UC last year of only having 6,000+ season tickets and posted it on the C-USA board. I posted the accurate information on the C-USA board and THIS board and now you're suddenly talking about 2005 and 2006. Pretty weak.

Hey...Syracuse Hoops draws higher attendance on average than about 30 plus Div I-A FOOTBALL programs!
When Cuse brings in a new football coach who can recruit, especially down in South FLA again...Cuse will be a winning football program playing in a packed Carrier Dome.

Cuse has a large fan base. I have been to Cuse twice, once for an FSU game and once for UCF. I think the biggest problem Cuse has is the stadium in which they play. Yes the product on the field has not been what it once was, but good fan bases come no matter the product. I truely believe that is Cuse had an outdoor stadium it would do wonders for the attendance.
I thought there were rumors of something being done.

I still say the problem with Syracuse football is coaching. Robinson IS NOT the answer. Syracuse should be a team with a solid QB and a strong running game and good defense. Syracuse should be a Big Ten-style team and I don't think Robinson is the answer. You can recruit to Syracuse and you can compete for championships at Syracuse.

I agree. A good coach could turn Syracuse around. They still have the name to recruit big time.

To play devil's advocate, I'll use UC as an example.
Nippert Stadium is, hands down, one of the top college football venues in the nation - not a bad seat in the place, and the architecture allows for some serious noise. But, people aren't going to come out when they don't win. Even when Dantonio started winning, the style of play bored many to tears. In Cincinnati, it's ALL ABOUT THE PRODUCT.

I took a look at UCF's attendance, if it weren't for South Florida and Texas your attendance wouldn't be anything to brag about. South Florida also had a superior attendance then you, which would explain why you're coming up with excuses for their attendance. They used WVU to boost their ticket sales but it's perfectly fine for you to use USF and Texas!?

Oh, and congratulations to UCF for having Texas and USF carry your attendance. If not for them your attendance would be equal to Cincinnati's.

RE: USF signs 1 for 1 with Western Kentucky
Just to add to the attendance conversation... in August 2005 (just before football season) UC fired the most beloved man on campus in Bob Huggins. Many people stayed away from everything UC in defiance of the administration. This carried on until Brian Kelly came on campus and showed the same type of toughness as Huggins. He also went on the town circuit, talking to everyone and telling them just how good UC was going to be. In his first year he raised season tickets, then he backed up his talking with a 10-3 season.
Now UC is poised to have near 20K in season tickets, and quite possibly sell out the entire season. Meanwhile they got a transfer from Notre Dame at QB assuming Mauk loses his appeal. UC had its best ever recruiting class, and the town is still excited about UC. They even had UC's head coach on during the Reds game on Friday night, with the announcers gushing over how good they were last year and how good they expect UC to be this year.
So, in the end, why do a handful of UCF fans keep finding their way over here to rip on Big East teams, specficially USF and UC? Last I checked, Xavier and Miami fans don't come over here and talk smack about UC. The Marshall fans on this site don't come over and talk smack about WVU all the time either. Only a handful of UCF fans that apparently cannot get over USF. To STK and KL, get a life. Seriously. You show your jealousy every time you come over here and talk crap. Your input is not needed, wanted, or even taken seriously. You guys are viewed as jokes here.
