Which incoming freshman will have the biggest impact?
I know we haven't received official word on a few of our recruits yet..but assuming there are no set backs and they all make the grades, which incoming freshman will have the biggest impact?

I would have to think the safe bet would be Cummings. Good athlete, will most likely play the 3 and 4 which gives him a great chance at playing early and often.

Runner up for me would be Woods. Just because its a huge position of need and he seems like the most capable guard to give us a scoring threat.

Are you including Jay Mitchell? He isn't an incoming freshman, but he will be a new face on the court next year.....

I would agree with Cummings, but I think Mitchell gives him a run for his money out of the gate. Mitchell is more experienced, and also fills a big need...a true PF.

I don't think its even a question if we ask which new player will have the biggest contribution. Mitchell has the size, exp., and a year in Ingles program over each of the incoming freshman. Thats why I asked which incoming freshman will have the biggest impact.

Green will have the biggest impact for the Owls and perhaps be the best new big man in the league.

I believe it will be Green. He's going to be a force on the defensive end.

I need to see his size first. If he's still around 175 he will not make that big of an impact. He will get bullied even in this conference. If he's 200+ he could be a starter and really help us out defensively. IMO Mitchell will be the newest big man to make his mark in the league.

i saw him play his senior year in hs...and he looked bigger then that 175 they said on rivals. i'd say he was closer to 190, and i'm sure he's bulked up some since.

I hope so. I've just never seen him listed as anything higher and until I do I'm not getting my hopes up.

I thinking Green or Cummings will bring the most to the team right of the bat. What do you guys think now that our class has been signed.

RE: Which incoming freshman will have the biggest impact?
We still don't have official announcements on Green or Chambers, but I think that if you are just looking at our freshman players (which rules out Mitchell) then it will be either Cummings or Woods. Someone is going to have to fill a lot of points from the wing, and I think those two are our best bet. From what I have read Woods seems to be more of a shooter/scorer, while Markeith is one of those once in a lifetime athletes that happens to be a great basketball player. Markeith probably won't have the statistical impact that Woods will have, but he is going to flat out embarass some people with his hops, strength, and body control. I hope he watched Ronel Wooten alley-oops videos all summer long to learn something, because he has that kind of leaping ability.

I don't know much about Artie Marine, but I bet he is a consistent contributor by the middle of the season...It will also be interesting to see how Chambers and Dixon come in...they are both very talented as well. But my guess is the two athletic wings...I can't wait to see...that is for sure.

I think we need either dixon or chambers to have a big impact. We need a solid backup point to help control the game if Kelvin gets in foul trouble. We should get plenty of scoring between Mitchell, Woods and Cummings. We need someone to step up to get them the ball in scoring position.

RE: Which incoming freshman will have the biggest impact?
I agree with that wholeheartedly. Thankfully we have Kelvim who can run the show, but we will need some contributions, some competition, and some differentiation from atleast one of the freshman at PG. Kelvim has his strengths and his limitations...he needs to work on those this offseason...mainly his quickness. If he really wants to be an elite guard, he needs to get a lot quicker. One of these freshman guard is going to provide quickness if he doesn't acquire it in the offseason.

Good point ksubbfan.

RE: Which incoming freshman will have the biggest impact?
I agree we need a PG to step up, but I don't think Chambers or Dixon will be the incoming freshman that has the biggest impact. I've only seen Dixon play one time and he seemed physical enough for D1 but I wasn't blown away by his performance. This was only one time though, so its hard to say how good he is. I have no clue on Chambers, I kno pretty much nothing about the kid (besides what I've read here).
