The gift that keeps on giving
No limit on Wright's contributions to McCain

Quote:As evidence that "our government is capable of doing anything," he strongly hinted that he has intellectually respectable corroboration -- he mentioned several publications -- for his original charge that the U.S. government is guilty of "inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color." But on Monday he insisted that he is not anti-American: It is, he said, Americans' government, not the American public, that is a genocidal perpetrator of terrorism. So, he now denies that America has a representative government -- that it represents the public. He believes that elections constantly and mysteriously -- and against the public's will -- produce a genocidal, terroristic government.

Wright throws Obama under the bus

Quote:We all have our crosses to bear. The Rev. Jeremiah Wright has become Barack Obama's.

I'm sorry, but I've had it with Wright. I would never try to diminish the service he performed as pastor of his Chicago megachurch, and it's obvious that he's a man of great charisma and great faith. But this media tour he's conducting is doing a disservice that goes beyond any impact it might have on Obama's presidential campaign.

Watching Obama and Wright go at it is better then Pay-per-view. When their feud ends I hope someone release the whole thing on DVD.

Still grasping at straws I see. This deal should have been over a month ago. Attack him on his policies, God knows there's enough problems there. Just drop this Wright thing. It's really getting tiresome and boring.

RE: The gift that keeps on giving
In the end, was this all just a calculated, scripted risk by Obama? Did he and Mr. Wright set up this exchange so that Obama could answer the growing criticism of why he didn't condemn Mr. Wright with stronger statements? Time will tell, IF Mr. Wright responds to Obama's statements on Tuesday, maybe not.

Until then here are some more words of "wisdom" from Mr. Wright:

Looking for Mr. Wright

Quote:To cap it off, Wright threw Obama under the bus. First, the pastor explained, Obama himself had taken Wright out of context. Moreover, Obama neither denounced nor distanced himself from Wright. And, besides, anything that Obama says on such matters is just stuff "politicians say." They "do what they do based on electability, based on sound bites, based on polls." So much for Obama's new politics.

I find nothing entertaining about politics.....I weep for our nation that out of 300mil+ people....We are left to have to elect our master from these 3 fools.

To Obama, 'we' means 'me'

Quote:"Do you personally feel that the reverend betrayed your husband?" asked Meredith Vieira on "The Today Show."

"You know what I think, Meredith?" replied Michelle Obama. "We've got to move forward. You know, this conversation doesn't help my kids."

Hang on. "My" kids? You're supposed to say "It's about the future of all our children," not "It's about the future of my children" – whose parents happen to have a base salary of half a million bucks a year. But even this bungled cliché nicely captures the campaign's self-absorption: Talking about Obama's pastor is a distraction from talking about Obama's kids.
