That mansion thing still gets me. Did anyone stop tothink that maybe a group dorm situation with a flat screen IS a mansion to some of these kids? Compared to my first apartment it is, and compared to what some of our players, maybe Dorsey ( I don't know), grew up in, maybe mansion is the right word.

Drew, you deserve a medal/award/etc for your hard work over there. You conducted yourself just like a southern gentleman, which in the long run will speak volumes about our class. You acted with character, they acted like a bunch of characters. Congrats on your demanor and thanks for all the work over there. I know you had to be frustrated. You've got my respect.

All that garbage that was thrown at you would have frustrated that guy on the plane today. Great job, and thank you.

lol, i feel like i just took on an entire message board and won...

I was lost in Philly several years ago trying to get to the airport from the North side of town. I notice that when the quality of the graffiti went up so did the area as a major getto. Dead cars and trash every where. No more short cuts for me.

They should have known better. The writing has been on the wall for some time. Tyreke Evans has been flourishing in 2008 at the high school level running the Memphis attack at American Christian. Its their own fault for believing they were actually in it. Can you say... delusional fans.

RE: 'nova fans crying ...
It's really just amusing at this point. Despite being among the elite for a few years, people still talk trash about the program, about the offense, about the recruits we get (although they would give their left nut sack for the very same recruits)...they talk as if we did not just finish demolishing damn near everybody put in front of us this year...There really isn't much left to say. They don't know about our history and some of them are making snide remarks over things as unimportant as how many times the school name has changed----its just...laughable at how far some of them are going to smear the UofM program.

You'd almost think they were our main rivals or something. At least then you could explain the needless animosity. There are some serious sore losers over there, and I suggest people from here just sit back and watch rather than try and get involved in that. Those folks enjoy being negative and your posts will not change that. If they were into logic and good sportsmanship, they wouldn't post the way they post in the first place.

So is Las Vegas, and certain parts of Memphis. Seriously, can't we make that statement about any city in the country? Every city has it's 'bad' areas. Philly is no worse a place to live than Memphis, Nashville, Dallas, Chicago or Dallas. Why do people always resort to the 'my city is better than yours' argument?

Three words for you: Gee Pee Ess. Yes, there are parts of Philly to avoid...just like there are parts of Chicago to avoid...just like there are parts of Memphis, Dallas, Nashville, Birmingham and Las Vegas to avoid.

800? No need to let facts get in the way of the truth.

Actually, in 2007 we had 392 homicides in Philadelphia. Obviously, not a great number...good enough to rank us #21 on the Most Dangerous Cities in the U.S. list. Cities more dangerous on that list? Detroit (1), St. Louis (2), Oakland (4), Birmingham (6), Memphis (8) and Little Rock (13).

Memphis has more property crime, Philly has more violent crime. The latest (2006) FBI uniform crime report had Philly with 27.7 murders per 100K, and Memphis with 21.6.

That's to be expected since Philly is 4x larger than Memphis, I suppose. The point is both cities have their problems and it's ridiculous for citizens of either one to denegrate the other based on violence.

I made the same argument on their board. All cities have good and bad parts. I'm sure Philly has many nice parts and me passing through making an evaluation is unfair but that was exactly what they were doing making fun of Memphis. When was the last time you passed through a city on the interstate and came away with a good impression of that city? Who puts their nicest neigborhoods off of an expressway?

Whats comical is that there is an Ohio State fan leading the charge on the Nova board.

Ohio State? Thats an automatic disqualification if an Ohio State fan wants to accuse any school in America of cheating. Its almost as bad as the Kansas fan posting that Coach Cal cheats. Someone beat me to the punch and stated "dude, aren't you guys on probation for NCAA violations".

Honestly, you have to expect a bunch of guff if you hire Calipari.
It's extreme whining on Memphis' fans part to complain when other fan bases point out that Memphis hired a known cheater to coach their program.
It was the only way for Memphis to become relevant again. Part of the deal with winning is you have to accept that everyone will think of the program as garbage when led by Calipari.... who cares?
