I guess I should start by saying that Mr. Calipari would not hesitate to instill distrust and thereby create a need for his disloyal views if he felt he could benefit from doing so. I, hardheaded cynic that I am, can repeat with undiminished conviction something I said eons ago: You may make the comment, "What does this have to do with damnable so-called experts?" Well, once you begin to see the light you'll realize that we should not concern ourselves with his putative virtue or vice. Rather, we should concern ourselves with our own welfare and with the fact that Mr. Calipari exhibits an air of superiority. You realize, of course, that that's really just a defense mechanism to cover up his obvious inferiority. Let me put it this way: unlike Mr. Calipari, when I make a mistake I'm willing to admit it. Consequently, if -- and I'm bending over backwards to maintain the illusion of "innocent until proven guilty" -- he were not actually responsible for trying to relabel millions of people as "nasty", then I'd stop saying that it's Mr. Calipari's belief that my letters demonstrate a desire to spam the Internet with unsolicited abusive, muddleheaded junk e-mail. I can't understand how anyone could go from anything I ever wrote to such a recalcitrant idea. In fact, my letters generally make the diametrically opposite claim, that Mr. Calipari accuses me of being a liar. The only proven liar around here, however, is Mr. Calipari. Only a die-hard liar like Mr. Calipari could claim that his decisions are based on reason. The truth, in case you haven't already figured it out, is that I am reminded of the quote, "A great many thoughtful people share my concerns about him." This comment is not as rabid as it seems because some people say that that isn't sufficient evidence to prove that Mr. Calipari is secretly scheming to make life less pleasant for us. And I must agree; one needs much more evidence than that. But the evidence is there, for anyone who isn't afraid to look at it. Just look at the way that prudence is no vice. Cowardice -- especially his mawkish form of it -- is. Mr. John Calipari's scornful viewpoints have led to more, not less, scapegoatism in our society. Since I don't have anything more to say on that subject, I'll politely get off my soapbox now.

This calls for a double 03-zzz. 03-zzz 03-zzz

RE: Cal blew it
People generally have strong views about Strat57. Before I get moving here, let me point out that if you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem. What he fails to mention in his put-downs is actually quite telling. For example, did you know that he wants to discourage us from expressing our communications in whatever way we damn well please? Or that he still labors under the outmoded pretense that if he kicks us in the teeth we'll then lick his toes and beg for another kick? Before you declare me unforgiving, let me assert that he bases his treatises on the belief that children don't need as much psychological attentiveness, protection, and obedience training as the treasured household pet. But the problems with his bromides don't end there. To summarize my views: Strat57 doesn't perceive that anything is wrong with him.

Kemp didn't play poorly against Kansas... yea, he missed an alley-oop toss... but that fast break was a result of him stealing the ball from a Kansas guard at midcourt.

earl3 Wrote:In several interviews before monday nights game Cal said the key to the game would be Willie Kemp and Doneal Mack. hard for them to make a difference when they don't get off the bench. Look at the minutes played by CDR, Rose and Anderson and it isn't too hard to figure out why they missed those fts and made that turnover. Physical exhaustion leads to mental exhaustion. We had timeouts and didn't use them. It is the job of the Head Coach to be the level headed and calm presence when there is chaos going on in the game. Cal became a wild spectator during the game. yes I know that is his style. Then if that is the case you need to have a lead Asst. Coach that has his ear and can play that role. Apparently either no one else on the sideline tried to tell him or he didn't listen. A timeout before or after Rose's fts to give the guys their final instructions and to give them a much needed breather would have made the difference even though the lack of substitutions throughout the game made no sense. Both Mack and Kemp made great contributions throughout this season albiet they were up and down at times. Cal had little to no patience with them and quick jerked them around alot this season. Who's to say that if CDR, Anderson and Rose get 3-4 minutes more rest in the game they make those fts and don't turn it over. Guess we will never know but I would much rather have my guys strong at the end of the game not cramping up and bent over double from exhaustion. Cal got away from that which got him to the dance. he talked all season about our depth. Heck I think Jeff Robinson could have contributed a few a minutes. Lord knows he is athletic and that game was tailor made for him. anyway, I'm done talking and thinking about it. On to next year. Great season and a greater group of kids. I will miss watching this team. I wish all of them the best.

Unless this post is just a bizarre attempt at extremely dry humor, I'd say that you think Cal is the Anti-Christ...whatever. 03-lmfao04-chairshot
