Herd basketball signs two recruits
HUNTINGTON — Marshall men’s basketball head coach Donnie Jones announced the signing of Florida high school standouts Shaquille Johnson and Kore White to letters of intent.

Johnson was the Florida Class 5A Player of the Year.

The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 22 points, 8.7 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 3.5 steals at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville.

White, a 6-8, 220-pound forward, played on the Class 5A state championship team at Fort Lauderdale Dillard High School. White averaged 12 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots per game.

Marshall signed Hargrave Military Academy point guard Damier Pitts in the fall.

The Thundering Herd recruiting class also includes Marcus Goode, a 6-10, 300-pounder from Prosperity, S.C., who attended The Patterson School in North Carolina. Goode is enrolled and eligible to compete next season, the Marshall release said.
