Surprised we are the only team with a sub-500 record in the tourney and looking at that bracket, I could see us winning that if they decide to play hard and come with a chip on their shoulder.

No we wouldn't. We are the 4 seed in the Midwest.

The only way I see us hosting any game is if we make the final.

RE: CBI bracket
from a pure name standpoint, we have the easier road to the finals. only washington and virginia are from BCS conferences besides us, and they're both in the opposite bracket. i see washington headed to the finals from that one, they have some decent talent.

Update on the Bearcat's Blog:

Quote:Clarification - UC would host second round

The information that I received Evan Olesh of the CBI was incorrect. In fact, UC requested only that it not host a first-round game. According to senior associate athletic director Mike Waddell, if the Bearcats beat Bradley on Wednesday, they will host the second-round game at Fifth Third Arena.

Fox College sports is owned by FSN (Three Different Channels, FCS Atlantic, FCS Central, FCS Pacific)

In Dayton Channels 143, 144, 145,
In Cincinnati 171, 172, 173.

In Cincinnati it's available on Digital Cable on the Digital Sports & Games Tier

More on UC in the CBI

I just talked to Evan Olesh, director of communications for The Gazelle Group, which is putting the CBI together. I asked him why UC was attractive for his tournament given the fact that the Bearcats have a 13-18 record and a six-game losing streak that included a 45-point loss at UConn.

"There were a lot of factors that went into almost every team being in the tournament," Olesh said. "One of the factors from Cincinnati is that they did express high interest in wanting their team to continue to play. They wanted their seniors to hopefully go out on a high note.

"We were thrilled to have them. We understand they had a down year but we like the name Cincinnati. The way the NIT bracket panned out they took a lot of teams they normally would not have in the past. It put us in an almost awkward situation in filling our bracket but we like the way it turned out."

Olesh said that UC is on the road because UC officials requested not to host any games. He also said that UC and the other schools will be paid only their expenses, so the school doesn't stand to make any money off this deal.

that mean if we were to win to get to the point where we would be up for hosting a game.. we wouldn't want that? what about the best of 3 at the end.. if we were to end up in the finals.. it would be 3 home games for the other team?

RE: CBI bracket
That was corrected in a later post to say that UC didn't want to host in round one. It looks like we can be hosts in round 2 if we get a win on wednesday.

I assume they didn't want to host to many games because there is a hosting fee that would get paid to the CBI and with finals going on (plus the fact that it is the CBI against Bradley and we haven't been drawing that well against Big East opponents) UC felt there was a good chance they'd lose money on the deal.

FCS is a cable only product...it is a mix of all the local FSN products avail. on satellite...

It is not CSTV..

These games will show up on the local FSN's on satellite (in the 600's on Directv) or on TW channel 43 or the three FCS's up in the 170's...

I'd love a rematch with Ohio after that debacle last year. Listening to Ohio fans talking trash was embarrassing to say the least.
