USC vs. K-State

should be great to watch Beasley, Mayo and Walker on the same floor

I really hope this game is on at night. I'd love to watch it. Its the first round game I most want to see. Have to pull for K-State in it too as Frank Martin is coaching.

In order I am rooting for...

1. Winthrop (went to school there for a year)
2. Huggs
3. The Big East
4. Xavier (gotta support the local team)
5. Upsets and the Little Guy...

I'll go through the brackets in more detail during my lunch break tomorrow...but that's me at the moment.

Dickie V is making an @ss out of himself. That stupid rant about Bobby Knight and Indiana was uncomfortable and even Bobby Knight was uncomfortable with it.

He did the same thing yesterday and I swear you could see steam coming out of Knights ears.

By the way, for the people who said that UC losing 14 or 15 games meant they wouldn't have made the tournament, there you go right there, Arizona gets in. That makes the losses to Depaul and Providence and the near miss at Pitt more galling. If UC wins those games and our first round game (which would have been against an easier opponent), and UC might have made the Field of 65.

I didn't catch yesterday's rant. Wow. You could tell that if they were in the same room that Knight would have caved his face in, and with good reason.

I thought the committee should have had Arizona State in over Kentucky... but Arizona State was penalized for an absolutely abysmal non-conference schedule. I figured if i missed it would be on that one.

Coach K gets his second shot at Huggs...if Huggs can beat a good Arizona team.

They sure didn't do either Xavier or WVU any favors in the first or second rounds. I'm not sure Xavier wants either Purdue or Baylor, especially if Baylor actually comes to play.

Bilas said he believes Arizona is the better team and that their record (AZ) is due mostly to injuries this year (he drew a comparison of AZ to Pitt and their BE tournament run now that they are healthy).

He said in his estimation of AZ beats WVU it won't be an upset. When the put up team comparisons he said if you wanted to see the biggest impact Huggins has made at WVU look at the rebounding deferential... previously WVU had a negative rebounding ratio and now it was positive.

It's amazing that the NCAA sent both WVU and XU to the West bracket... is it just me or did it seem like UC was often sent far away from home in the tournament when Huggins was Coach?

Don't understand the whole.. the CUSA teams moving to the BEast has "taken" away mid major seeds.. I dont understand that.. it's not like CUSA was really a midmajor.. for a couple years with UofL, Marquette, Depaul, and UC.. CUSA was in the top 3 for strength of conference.. soo they were one of the big boys.. until their big boys left.. soo all they did was combine the strengths..

RE: Selection Show Thread
regions arent as important as they used to be. Huggs is probably quite happy being only a couple hundred miles away from their game site.

I really hope he does well this year. Im looking forward to seeing KState vs. USC too.

I'm glad that most of the games I was looking forward to see appear to be the later games rather than the early ones. I cant get in front of a tv until 2 on Thurs and 4:30-5 on Friday 03-hissyfit

seriously though, i think digger was referring to what CUSA has become. that is, outside of memphis that conference is mostly garbage. yeah, you have UAB, houston, and maybe a few other respectable teams, but none are going to be in the NCAA's year in and year out. technically, they are a mid major with one high major team in it. rece even qualified many times by saying non-BCS conferences, because we know the zags and muskies hate the term mid major. if you schedule well and are successful out of conference, the big east is going to get those teams in because of the high SOS playing conference games and their RPI rating over teams that have to play in weaker conferences. plus, the committee guy said they don't look at number of teams from a conference getting in... 03-banghead
