A CBI Tourney Bid Announced Already!!
Houston has accepted a bid to the new CBI post-season tourney.

Houston head to the Postseason

Was Houston notified by the NCAA they were no longer "on the board" for an at-large bid or did the Cougars simply figure there was no way they were going to get in?

I also read in the OKC paper today that both Missouri and Oklahoma State told the CBI they would not accept a bid if offered, because getting a home game would cost them a $60,000 fee.

Houston had no chance. RPI in the high 70s. The NIT cut down from 40 to 32 teams and close to 1/3rd of the NIT field will be regular season conference champs that didn't win their conference tournament:

UNC-Asheville (Big South)
UC Santa Barbara (Big West)
VCU (CAA)
Rider (MAAC)
Morgan St. (MEAC)
Robert Morris (NEC)
Stephen F. Austin (Southland)
Alabama St. (SWAC)
Utah St. (WAC)

S. Alabama could also fall here.

I agree, Akron had a higher RPI last season and they didn't even get an NIT invite.

Nobody's going to accept a home game in the CBI. Not if they have to pay for it.

The CBI's going to end up with 16 away teams and no place to host them. They can't force teams to play at home and then charge them $$$ for it.
