Miami fans - what's going on with Coach Coles? I heard he has not been on the sidelines the past few games. Is that true? If so, how is he?

Charlie was supposed to be released from the hospital today. What I have been told is that the Doctors are just being cautious. It is unknown if he might coach against BG on Sunday.

rumor has it he could step down as coach after this year due to health reasons.

I hope Charlie doesn't have to go out like that. He is my favorite college basketball coach.

I think those rumors are based on speculation that a person of his age and health history (two different major heart attacks) might be better off in a less stressful occupation. I think it is reasonable speculation, but I really don't think anything has been decided at this point. Charlie had hinted previously that next year would be his last season, so we will see.

i'll miss him when he goes. one of the best and most original around in the college game. miami should have a real good team next yr (especially if they can get some improvement at the point) so it would be great to have coles able to stick around at least one more season. seems like j henderson has been groomed for that job for a while btw.

Occupation? The guy should be retiring he's 70 years old.

Charlie will be taking off the rest of the year due to medical concerns.

Nothing but a HUGE amount of respect for coach Coles in the Herd Nation.

Coach Coles is a great coach and person. Marshall fans who had seats near the floor always loved the banter by Charlie. First class person by anyone's standards.

Charlie Coles is the best ambassador for the MAC that this conference has ever had. He is an excellent coach and an even better person. Get well soon, Charlie. The MAC tournament won't be the same without you.
