9 & 10pm Media Chgo coverage of memorial
I watched most all the summaries and replays of NIU memorial on Chicago media outlets Sunday evening.
It was very detailed with good coverages before and after the services.
Sadly & Strangely , NIU has never looked so good.
Today's Aurora Beacon ran an indepth feature of the NIU female student Clare Scarbeary whose foto has been seen around the world as one of the first distraught students led away from COLE following the allclear by a female officer.
One of many things which has impressed me greatly is the number of students interviewed who expressed their love of their school - NIU. It seems so genuine, so widespread and most heartwarming.
Even more noteworthy IMO - in contrast to some perceptions by others - many of those interviewed expressing love for their school were minority students.
I found it particularly significant following Thursday's Moment of Silence , black fraternity brothers was erecting a sign at one of the Memorial sites and none of the victimes were black. It formed one of many of my personal fotos and album documenting this tragedy and NIU's response & the challenge of Forward, Togther Forward.
