He's been slowed down by injuries his entire career and needs to shed a few pounds but he would be an absolute beast in the MAC.

With the incoming recruits the Illini have coming in, it's unlikely that he'd ever get a shot.

The rumor is that he has looked into ISU, SIU, and UIC. Patton needs to at least give this kid a phone call. He's from Chicago -- Maywood, so we have location going for us.

I'm with you. He was once a 4* athlete that was heavily recruited. With our available scholarships we could have him come right away and start for us next year. Plus I think he already redshirted this year, so I don't think he would have to sit out. What a coup this would be to help turn things around.[/align]

I would love to see us go after Ryan Hare of Marshall as well. Both of these pickups would give us instant success in the MAC.

This is the kind of player we need to get this program turned around. He would be a force in the MAC. Not posotive but I think he will have to sit out a year unless he drops to D2.

I'm not sure of the rules but last I heard Illinois was going to try and get a medical redshirt from him. Remember, he was the one in the accident with Smith last year and has had some lingering effects this year that has limited his playing time.

I'm not sure if they would play a factor in his eligibility or not.

The paper said that he had a bad work ethic.

His work ethic is fine. The question is whether or not he'll ever really bounce back from the injuries and the Smith debacle.

Also, I don't think he'd be eligible next year. He still has his regular redshirt year (this year either counts as a year of eligiblity or is a Medical RS year, pending NCAA decision) so he could use it next year ('08-'09) and be eligible for the 2009-2010 season with 3 years still to play.

I don't think the medical RS year will count towards the year sitting out.
