MCCain to use computer generated video of Ronald Reagan in introduction.
John McCain has prepared a computer edited video featuring former President Ronald Reagan “introducing” him to the CPAC 2008 Conference.

How dare McCain. Does he HONESTLY think Ronald Reagan would see him as his successor? Would Reagan approve of this garbage?

The video incorporates editing techniques similar to those used in the Academy Award winning motion picture “Forest Gump” to make Tom Hanks appear to meet John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and John Lennon.

McCain apparently wants to PO every conservative member of the Republican Party, and it doesn’t matter how offensive he is in the process.

Memo to the Republican National Committee: Expel McCain from the Party NOW.

Tell him to go play with the Democrats where he belongs.

If McCain uses this video, it is very likely to backfire badly. This is the group before which Ronald Reagan said in 1975 that, “A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency or simply to swell its numbers.”

Very few of the 2008 CPAC crowd will see McCain as the successor to Reagan and Reagan’s principles. McCain has sacrificed conservatives’ fundamental beliefs throughout his Senate career. If McCain uses this introduction, the boos will be very loud.

McCain faces a real quandary. If he fails at CPAC -- and doesn’t win the CPAC straw poll (he finished dead last in 2007) -- the word will be out that the conservatives are off his team this year."

one thing Reagan would do, is support McCain if he was a nominee. The way he did Gerald Ford in 76 for example, or the way Goldwater got behind Nixon. They recongized the truth that politics is a team sport and all the pragmatism involved with that....reagan's 11th commandment

that said, the Reagan nostalgia is getting ridiculous.

Quote:McCain: No Reagan Video at CPAC [Byron York]

From the McCain campaign:

Good morning everyone. There are rumors circulating that our campaign will play a video featuring President Ronald Reagan introducing John McCain prior to his address at CPAC today. These rumors are inaccurate. Our campaign has never had any plans to produce or show any such video.
