17 WAC players taken in the NFL Draft
And for your convenience, here they are the 17 WAC players in the order drafted, courtesy USA Today "Team by Team Picks", page 14C, which I put in chronological order for bragging rights.

PICK
58. LIONS: Ikaika Alama-Francis, DE, HAWAII
60. DOLPHINS: Samson Satele, G, HAWAII
61. LIONS: Gerald Alexander, DB, BOISE STATE
72. VIKINGS: Marcus McCauley, DB, FRESNO STATE
78. PACKERS: James Jones, WR, SAN JOSE STATE
80. TITANS: Paul Williams, WR, FRESNO STATE
111. BILLS: Dwayne Wright, RB, FRESNO STATE
151. BENGALS: Jeff Rowe, QB, NEVADA
172. CHARGERS: Legedu Naanee, WR, BOISE STATE
181. DOLPHINS: Reagan Mauia, RB, HAWAII
191. PACKERS: Korey Hall, LB, BOISE STATE
200. BROWNS: Melila Purcell, DE, HAWAII
214. BUCCANEERS: Chris Denman, T, FRESNO STATE
222. BILLS: Derek Schouman, TE, BOISE STATE
229. JAGUARS: John Broussard, WR, SAN JOSE STATE
236. EAGLES: Nate Ilaoa, RB, HAWAII
254. RAIDERS: Jonathan Holland, WR, LOUISIANA TECH

Interestingly, of all the QBs in college football, only 11 were drafted. Nevada's Jeff Rowe was the 8th quarterback taken.

I wasn't surprised that Rowe was taken and Zabransky was not. Was it the East/West Shrine Game that the Nevada QB showed so well in?

The WAC site is saying that this year's draft tied the WAC's best ever under this format.

In 1998, the 16-team WAC had 17 players taken as well.

Very good weekend.
