Great Rivalry Game
I just got back from Belmont-Lipscomb round 1 and man it was a thriller. Belmont should've blown them out but got lazy and gave up a 15 point lead in the second half. With 8 seconds left in the game Belmont was down 75-72 and Andy Wicke made a clutch fade away three to send the game to overtime. At the end of OT1 Belmont was up 3 but Henry Harris missed two free throws and Lipscomb stormed down in a hurry and Lakori Daniels returned the favor by hitting a three and tying it up with 3 seconds left. So into double OT...Belmont got hot. Andy Wicke hit a three and Dansby SLAMMED it to give Belmont the 7 point lead, making it a three possession game with 2 mins left. This time they managed to close it. But the crowd was crazy...arena was sold out and packed...absolutely deafening towards the end...almost felt like Duke-North Carolina. Always nice when we can draw good crowds to A-Sun games!

WOW what a game....the refs were terrible (LU got the majority of the calls their way) but still a great game. I have to say that Eddie Ard right now looks like he should get A-Sun POTY. He is the heart and soul of that team and when he gets going he's dangerous....there's really nothing you can do to stop him if he gets on a roll. BUT....I will say this for all you ETSU fans. Watch out for Shane Dansby of Belmont, he's physical and he got much better after last season. This is already shaping up to be a great year for conference!

Yes, although there were a number of empty seats in the corners. It was still a great atmosphere, especially at the end. 03-wink
