Why would McCain go to marginalized Hard Right Conservatives
Truly their losers. Look at these three compelling issues.
77 percent of people believe there is global warming. In another poll 85% believe. Why would McCain pander oxycontin boy. Only 23% of people are in his corner here. Major losing issue for conservatives.

77% of Democrats would rather pay down the National Debt and 67% of Republican's would rather do that than see a tax cut.
Slap in the face of your Friedman right wingers.

The WAR.
71% of people want us out in the next year.

The only way the hard right conservatives have hoodwinked the MAJORITY of American's is through the pandering to the religious right and fiscally irresponsible TAX CUTS. McCain will be labeled as a cynic if he panders to the Rush Limabaugh's of the world. He will wrap up the nomination precisely because he needles the extreme right wing of his party. America is coming to it's senses and marginalizing this part of the electorate. What say you? I predict a McCain-Lieberman ticket and it might be the winning ticket. I get 90% of what I personally want. JUST DON"T start a war with IRAN!
The Hard right better start running to McCain. Where else could they go?

To the bathroom...
1. I'm not exactly sure of all that you were saying as it seemed like a whirlwind of links and random clutter, but tax cuts are what the U.S. needs. Any economist will tell you that giving an infusion of money to a group that has a very low propensity to save will have a 10-20 fold actual effect on the economy.
2. I'm for paying down the debt as well, but not at the expense of destroying the economy. Cut federal spending.
3. People are inherently dumb and easily influenced by anything the media puts out there. If the news tonight began running stories of how bad Cyprus is and how it is a threat to the U.S., there would probably be 70% of the U.S. in favor of invading them by the end of the week.
80% of the 71% that want us out of Iraq, were the same people who wanted us to invade. Holding true with this generation of Americans, they also don't see any need to clean up a mess that was created by this invasion. Let's just move on (pun intended) and someone else will figure it out.

RE: Why would McCain go to marginalized Hard Right Conservatives
You hard line conservatives are just on the wrong side of so many issues. Only 33% of people believe the govt. should restrict abortions.

The little confab of groups that powered the Republican's from Reagan til now is imploding. Where would a Pro-Choice Goldwater be in yesterday's Republican Party? McCain is the future of the Republican party boy's. There's just too many issues your hard right conservative is on the wrong side of. Here's my list: I'll try to think of more.
War
Abortion
Global Warming
Stem Cells
Fiscal policy- Tax Cuts before country idealism
The future of the Republican party is moderate if it wants to survive.[/b]

I want to make sure I am understanding you...
Popular opinion make a position right or wrong?
I don't remember a vast majority in the South being for desegregation of schools.....Guess they were right, huh?

You're talking about one issue. There are many issues I disagree with with ALL pseudo-conservative candidates running. Doesn't mean I won't vote for'em. Hell, I disagree with Rush many times, doesn't mean I don't listen to him. I even disagree with my favorite talk show host, Boortz.....but I still listen to him.
You don't have to agree with every position someone takes to support him, Mach. If that's your criteria, you're search will be one that is long and fruitless.

Oh, and BTW, if you look at the Democrats of old and compare them to today's Republicans, there are almost no differences between them. The current Democrats? They mirror Socialists. Sorry, it is what it is. There are no true conservatives running.

You are correct and it has been proven that you can win elections by pandering to the bottom 50% of Americans that pay no federal taxes.

I like the language of Liberty in ANY tounge...Get the damn Fed. govt. out of our lives and let people freely associate in a truely freemarket society...and the immigration issue would be moot.

The guy could win California on his own. The hard right is losing it's power and is being marginalized. Put Lieberman as his v.p. and he puts a coalition together that carries 40 states. The guy appeals to the moderates. The right will pull the lever for him against Hillary or Obama. Game Set Match.

Hey, you might want to reconsider who you're pulling for since far left-wingers aren't real big on people who like stocks, such as yourself. You think far right-wingers are any better than far left-wingers? They're both a danger. ....it's just the left embraces theirs.

I will vote for McCain over Hillary. I don't like his pro-choice or war positions, but he generally puts his country over party.
