NMSU and Dominos
Tyrone Nelson was reinstated to the basketball team after being charged with robbing a Domino's pizza delivery guy.
So I'm curious what fans think about this. Nelson claims he is innocent but there are witnesses and evidence that doesn't bode well for him. Personally I hope it is not true and that somehow it was a mistake. You would hate to see a kid throw away a great college career and a free education, as well as a possible pro career for some chicken wings. Plus it is good for the WAC having a player of his calibur in the league. But if he's guilty then it is outrageous that he was reinstated back on the team.
I'm not looking for discussions as to whether or not he is guilty...just curious what people think about the whole situation and about him being reinstated.
I also find it interesting he was reinstated but won't be traveling with the team on their exhibition tour in Canada. Is this because the conditions of his bail won't allow him to leave the country?

As an Aggie fan, I'm not necessarily objective.
But there is a committee which reviews such matters. I'm sure you can appreciate the
situation they're in - effectively judging the case
before it goes to court.
My understanding from local media is the case is very weak and the ID of Nelson was uncertain.
Time will tell.
But my first impression was a case of mistaken identity. Appearances can be misleading and people do make bad decisions, but Tyrone's demeanor on the court was of hard work and humility. I believe he is innocent and that NMSU
(can I be saying this) made the right decision.
If he is cleared of this, I guess he'll have a new nickname.
