Bad news for NMSU basketball
It has been reported that Tyrone Nelson was arrested for robbing a pizza delivery man.
There is an investigation but if this turns out to be true I hope NMSU kicks him off the team. It would put NMSU in a bad light if we kept him on the team.
I can't believe he would do that. Throw away a great college basketball career and possible pro career for 20 bucks and some change. There is no way you can rob a pizza guy and get away with it. Unbelievable.
Looks like Martin Iti, Hattila Passos, Trei Steward, and David Fisher will have to step it up.

Tough loss if true. He was one of the best PFs in the WAC last year and I thought would be the best player on your team this year. The guy was talented and at least had a future career in Europe. (Money there isn't too bad either.)
I hope it isn't true to be honest. What a huge mistake.

This is very bad news. The WAC needs NMSU to step up this year. And this loss hurts on just about every account.

From what I have heard he didn't take any money. Just pizza and hot wings. Nobody knows the truth just yet and it will be interesting to see what the truth is.
Hard to believe someone would throw away a great college career and possible pro career for pizza and hot wings.

Sometimes young guys just go stupid. When you look at the crime, stealing Pizza and chicken wings, it only verifies my post. IMO, if guilty, they were either drinking , acting on a dare, etc. The problem is, he may have thrown away a free ride to NMSU. No doubt another school would pick him up down the road, a new perfect match for UNLV. ;-) According to the paper, Reggie is sticking by him at this point, mainly because the whole issue doesn't make much sense. The hard thing to overcome is the cell phone # the pizza person programed into her phone and called in the mall and he took the phone from his pocket and answered. Who knows, maybe Reggie would lobby to keep him, it's a black eye for the kid, Reggie and NMSU, but not exactly train robbery.
