U.S. Junior Team 4 Western Michigan 2 FINAL Don't ask how I had WMU with 3 goals. This is what happens when Robin gives me updates during the Basketball game. Max Campbell scored both Bronco goals.

Assists by Pat Galivan, Nate Ansell and one other (curse my memory).
Goaltending by Gill for first period and part of second. Kuhn in for remainder of second and 12 minutes of third. Matt Federico to finish last 3 minutes.
Second Star of the game to Max Campbell-Both goals looked really good.

RE: U.S. Junior Team @ WMU (Exhibition)
USA Hockey Scored twice in first period (One on power play). 2-0 1st period
In second period, wmu got the first goal from Campbell putting it to a one goal differential. 2-1 in second.
USA Hockey then scored in second to go up 3-1.
WMU goal by Campbell again to go to 3-2. Again a one goal differential. It really appeared that WMU had a chance to tie it up.
The 4th goal (at about 12:03 in the third) was deflected by Kuhn, but it blooped over the top of him and just sat right in front of the net behind his back for a millisecond before a wave of USA Hockey players crashed on it and lit the lamp.
WMU had some really good effort, but things didn't go their way on the near misses.

The fact that the Broncos kept it close is impressive. We're talking about the best 20 and under hockey players in the nation (aside from NHLers not allowed to join the team). They should have been able to beat ANY college team with relative ease and the Broncos gave them quite a game.

1) USA Hockey's website blows. I can't find a schedule for any of the U-20, 18 or 17 teams.

I'm pretty sure it was the U-20 team WMU took on because former Gopher Kyle Okposo (sp) was on the roster.

And it's a bit inaccurate to call the U-20 team the best 20 and under players in the nation. Aside from what you mentioned about NHLers not allowed to play, you'd say they are the best U-20 players who CHOSE to play for the NTDP because there are many phenominal players who choose not to play for the NTDP and play for other junior teams for whatever reason. you could say the U-20 team is composted mostly of the best 20 and under players in the country.

but i'm arguing about semantics here.
