Their is way to much pressure at Alabama to win now, at least at Michigan that pressure isn't there if he beat Michigan St. and OSU.
Huh? Is that a bad joke?

Hopefully, these buyout clauses will become significant enough to be a deterent to some HC of a top 10 school hopping to another top 10 school.
I have no problem with the HC of a MAC school (e.g., Pinkel, Meyer, Kelly, etc.) moving up to a BCS school and getting say a 500% pay raise.
But moving from BCS bowl bound WVU to BCS bowl-wannabbe UofM is like: "what's the purpose???"
I think that of larger concern is the Coaches Assoc getting together and coming up with a plan / strategy for how they can handle these offers while maintaining their credibility. All of this jockeying around during bowl season, and all of the "I am committed to staying at xxU" reneging has seriously hurt the image of the College FB Coaches, in my opinion.
The single most important factor in the college game is the fan loyalty. Another couple of seasons of coaches jumping ship and screwing their fan base is going to be the demise of a great sport. If your school's fans don't care anymore what do you have left?

Last time I checked, Michigan had a more storied program than WVU. Don't kid yourself, it's a step up.

The WV press weighs in on the guy some in WV are calling "F-Rod".
BTW, our Marshall friends seem to think that the state of Michigan is some hole that NO one would want to live if they had a choice.
Seems, a couple of highly rated D-I FB and hoops coaches have left WV for Michigan.
Now the lawyers are scrambling to make sure UofM has to pony up 4M bucks for F-Rod and vice versa (looking for a loophole).
Remember guys it is entertainment. UofM sports isn't listed on the NYSE. The game is played for fans not stockholders.
Fans don't want their paper filled with articles about buyouts, enforcing contracts, loopholes, etc. etc.

Butch has a grand total of ONE year of HC experience and prior to that was the WVU Wide Receivers coach. That would put him about 6th on the staff pecking order while he was in Morgantown. WVU should have no problem getting a highly experienced and successful replacement for Rodriguez.
I'm not the only one that sees the potential that Jones has......

I don't get it Arro. You've made it clear how much you like Jones as CMU's coach, but here you are promoting him for another job on this site and other sites?
Wouldn't you want him to stay at CMU if you like him so much, and is the guy to lead CMU for the future????
Seems like you are his agent or something....

Of course I want him to stay. However, if WVU wants him there is not much any of us can do to compete with what they can offer. My point is that we have an outstanding young coach and that we should appreciate him while we have him. The people that said he was a bad hire are just WRONG!

That doesn't mean anything. If another school with more money comes calling he'll go. He had a new contract pending with CMU before he up and left. R.R. signed a new contract last season and now he is gone. Bobby Petrino signed a new contract with Louisville and then left for Atlanta. All that means is Kelly's buyout is probably more than it was before. Kelly won't be at Cincy by 2012.

That wasn't completely childish and unprovoked. Not at all.
