Those looking to take the CMU-sponsored busses or get the $10 student tickets are out of luck.
The 1,000 extra tickets and a remaining bus is sold out. The extra tickets bring the total sold to 7,000, about 1,300 more than last year's game.
"It's fantastic, because last year we sold about 5,700 to 5,800 tickets," said Nick Williams, associate athletic director of external operations. "Which as far as I know was a record by any one school for the championship game and then obviously to come in this year and sell 7,000 tickets, that's fantastic."
Students can still buy tickets through Ticketmaster or by calling Ford Field at 313-262-2003. Tickets also will be available at the stadium ticket offices on Saturday morning. Those tickets cost between $10 and $20.
The $10 tickets are located in lower level sections, club level sections and upper level sections. The $20 tickets are located in the club level sections.
Students who have tickets can go to a "tailgating party" by calling the Athletic Ticket Office, 774-3045, for a pregame party inside Ford Field. The pregame tickets cost $20 and include a meal and nonalcoholic drinks.
For the students who have tickets, the anticipation is growing.
"I hope we score 40 points and then play Michigan State in the Motor City Bowl," said Jason Kolis, Dearborn sophomore.
Deputy Director of Athletics for Miami University Jason Lener said Miami had only sold a couple hundred of their allotted tickets as of Monday
"We're hoping we have a huge crowd advantage," Williams said.
The Athletic Ticket Office also is taking reservations for tickets to CMU's future bowl game. The Chippewas three options still available are the International Bowl on Jan 5 in Toronto, the GMAC Bowl in on Jan. 6 in Mobile, Ala. or the Motor City Bowl on Dec. 26 in Detroit.
"Basically all we're doing is taking reservations," Williams said.
Williams said athletics is not charging anyone, they're just taking credit card numbers and information to process them when the tickets come in.
The MAC bowl games will be announced this weekend after the MAC Championship game is over.
CMU (7-5), Ball State (7-5) and Bowling Green (8-4) are bowl eligible, and if Miami wins the MAC Championship it will improve to 7-6 and become bowl eligible.
