Krocker Krapp Wrote:There is no such thing as a BCS title game bid and a regular BCS bid. A bid to one BCS game is the same as a bid to any other BCS game.

There are five BCS games and 10 spots. Six spots go to the six BCS league champions. The other four spots are available for the taking.

There is only one thing Hawaii needs to do. Win. The Warriors getting in, or not getting in, has nothing to do with the Big East champion.

I hear you but there are a few caveats:

1). No more then 2 bids per any one conference.

2). There is an OBSCURE provision if the champ of one of the 6 BCS conferences isn't ranked in the top 16 (??) and a non-automatic qualifier conference team is ranked higher (say 13, 14, 15 or 16) then the team from the non-automatic qualifier conference automatically gets a bid. Of course, if the non-automatic qualifier conference team finishes in the top 12 that team is an 'automatic qualifier' regardless of any automatic qualifier confererence's champ's ranking.

A lot of teams still have to play.

1 Missouri (vs. #9)
2 West Virginia
3 Ohio State
4 Georgia
5 Kansas
6 Virginia Tech (vs. #11)
7 LSU (vs. #14)
8 USC
9 Oklahoma (vs.#1)
10 Florida
11 Boston College (vs. #6)
12 Hawaii
13 Arizona State
14 Tennessee (vs. 14)

It looks pretty safe for Hawaii at this point. They should even move up a couple of spots after the championship games.

I'll upgrade Hawaii's chances to 90% of making a BCS game.

RE: Hawaii to the BCS?
The only way I can see Hawaii getting screwed is if Missouri loses, Ohio State moves up to the BCS Title Game, and the Rose Bowl picks Illinois to preserve their precious B10-P10 tradition. That would either keep Hawaii out or rob a second SEC, Big 12, or Pac-10 team of their proper place.

This is just a reminder of how the Rose Bowl committee's selfishness may eventually lead to the end of the BCS as a three-loss Illinois does not deserve an at-large spot over a two-loss team from those other three leagues. The ACC and Big East will not get a second team no matter what.
