When it rains, it storms in the Little Apple. On the day Kansas State found out Bill Walker was cleared to play for this season, Bob Huggins and his staff landed a key member to the 2007 recruiting class.

North Carolina native Dominique Sutton verbally pledged to the Wildcats on Wednesday night.

The Rivals150 prospect from the Patterson School said he felt comfortable with the situation at Kansas State.

"I talked to my parents and after all of the phone calls and being that I know coach (Dalonte) Hill really well, I felt like if I went there, I'd be taken care of and that they would look after me," Sutton said. "They are a good school and they'll be able to help me academically, too."

Sutton visited Kansas State earlier in the month and flirted with visits to Kansas and Illinois before finally put an end to his recruitment. Had he waited, Sutton could have easily been one of the most recruited players in 2007 class.

In speaking with coach Huggins, Sutton said he likes the way the Wildcats plan on using him in the future.

"He sees me as a guy that can come in and be aggressive and give 110 percent," Sutton said. "With me and Bill out there, we're going to get up and down."

Sutton joins Michael Beasley, Fred Brown and Jacob Pullen in the 2007 recruiting haul for the Big 12 school.

Building K-State from the ground up is something he can't wait to do, he said.

"We are all coming in there with the state of mind that we are going to work hard and make things happen," Sutton said. "We see us working hard to make it to the Big Dance and even the Final Four."

Those are words Kansas State fans can dance to.
