All-American Honors for WAC Women's VB Players
From a USU perspective, of course:

Quote:Utah State volleyball player Zuzana Cernianska received honorable mention All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) it was announced on Wednesday. This is the 25th annual All-America team and the third year the AVCA has had an honorable mention category.

Cernianska joins former Aggie great Erin Cartwright-Davis (2001-03) as the only AVCA All-American's in Utah State history, as Cartwright-Davis earned honorable mention All-America honors following the 2003 season.

Cernianska (pronounced Chairn-yun-ska), a senior from Prague, Czech Republic, earned first-team all-Western Athletic Conference honors this year as she led the league with 4.50 kills per game, and set a new single-season kills record at Utah State with 585. She also led the team in service aces (35), and was third on the team in digs (323).

Cernianska, who was a two-time first-team Big West Conference selection, and the co-Freshman of the Year in the Big West in 2002, ranks first all-time at Utah State in kills (1,813), attacks (4,423), and games played (445), second all-time in service aces (137) and digs (1,053), seventh all-time in total blocks (279) and block assists (243), eighth all-time in matches played (118), ninth all-time in hitting percentage (.226), and 10th all-time in assists (937).

Cernianska joins four other Western Athletic Conference players who received All-America honors from the AVCA in Hawaii's Victoria Prince (second-team) and Kanoe Kamana'o (third-team), New Mexico State's Kim Oguh (honorable mention), and Nevada's Salaia Salave'a (honorable mention).
