My Game notes:

This game will bring two very different styles of basketball to the court. Alabama won their opener by 12 points
over Troy. They scored about 2/3 of their points in the paint. Half of those on 2nd chance buckets. Their team pulled down an insane 60+ boards. We have some big men that can go toe-to-toe with them, however, we need to wear them out and get the big men into foul trouble if at all possible. Bama only had about 6 fast break points.

Mercer has a more balanced attack, with some bangers down low mixed with incredible guard play.

Alabama had a high amount of turnovers, in the 20+ range, which kept Troy in the game. Add the fact that Troy missed 32 of their 3-pt attempts, and you begin to believe that Mercer could put Alabama away with "decent" shooting. Troy shot 32% for the game. Mercer shot close to 60% at USC. All we need is something in the middle of those numbers.

This game could very well come down to home court advantage.

Good showing by the bears tonight, even though you guys didn't win you sure did give Bama a run for their money. Just legitimizes the ASUN and its early season "upsets"[/u]
