I hope their right. Another great year of hoops is upon us. Will our depth be the difference ?

Automatic bid: Kent State
At-large: None
Bubble: None
Comment: Jim Christian is always thought to be on the way out, but he's still at Kent State, about to start his sixth season.

The overall depth of the MAC looks a little better this year. Miami and Akron are stong in the East and Ohio always looks good on paper. Western looks to be scary good in the West and Central coming on strong. The best outcome is multiple bids- with one of them being us, of course. Hopefully this is the year we have enough deserving teams to make Laing's selection committee seat pay off.

I agree this should be one of the better years for MAC bball of late. lots of good young players in the league. Hopefully our depth will be the difference maker for us.

Well remember that Western lost 1 post player for the year and another one is in question. They may be forced to go small ball again.

Kashif Payne is taking an indefinite Leave.

RE: CBS Sportsline "Brackets"
"Bracket" speculation in early November is just plain silly.

There's no reason to believe that Kent has a clear advantage over any number of MAC teams with a legitimate shot at the conference championship. No reason at all.

Toledo without Payne? Disaster for the Rockets! He is the cog in the machine, the best player they have.

The Toledo board seems to indicate Payne returned to practice last week. Flashs, is your info current?

RE: CBS Sportsline "Brackets"
Well he may have returned but the athletic department released a press release on the 3rd stating he was taking a leave.

Joplin also announced that freshman guard Corey Bingham has received NCAA approval of initial eligibility, and is eligible for competition this season.

I almost hope they are right. I would still like to see another bid though.
