Huggs visits Blair
Pittsburgh (Pa.) Schenley center DeJuan Blair played host to K-State coach Bob Huggins on Tuesday, just over one week after his official visit to Manhattan, Kan. Earlier this week, the Rivals150 member's AAU coach indicated a couple other schools might be getting official visits, but that the first-year Wildcat coach was coming in to see Blair before those trips could be taken.

"DeJuan told me that his talks with Coach Huggins went well," Schenley coach Fred Skrocki said. "I didn't get into a lot of the details with him this morning. He said it went well and not much more was said.

"He wants to take some other visits before he makes up his mind. He is going to visit Tennessee and Pittsburgh before he makes the final decision. I just don't know what dates those trips will be."

Blair's AAU coach, J.O. Stright indicated the visit to hometown Pittsburgh could come this weekend.

"He'll go over there (Pittsburgh) this weekend for a visit and play at the gym with them even though there isn't a football game in town this weekend," Stright said earlier this week.

Skrocki believes the 6-foot-7, 245-pound forward should have a decision shortly after the official visits are completed.

"I think it won't take him long after the trips to make a choice," Skrocki said. "He'll get back and visit with his family. It will be a decision he and his family will make based on what they believe is the best situation for DeJuan. I know it has DeJuan under a lot of stress right now, so I'm sure he will be looking forward to getting this over with."

After visits with coaches from Tennessee last week and K-State this week again, Skrocki isn't sure what the top of Blair's list looks like.

"Talking this morning, I don't get the indication from DeJuan that there is a school at the top above the others. It has changed from time to time, but I really think he's going to take the trips and then look at them and try and find the best place for him to go."

Yes, I wanted Blair very bad, he just seemed like such a prototypical Huggs player. But it appears Huggs has moved on as he has Dominique Sutton set for a visit at Madness on friday. Hes rated #54 on scout and is a very physical player who has been compared to PJ Tucker and Eric Martin.
