Coog, I like a lot of your posts and you seem like a good guy, but the C-USA board is that way ----->
You're right. I was a little strong in my wording (I have since edited myself)..
but you asked...
To set the record straight... I don't hold any animosity towards the WAC. But its just the perception... Houston faces the same obstacles when we recruit against the Big 12 teams. Let's just hope that both leagues can thrive in whatever mutates out of the BCS.

I'm saying that it helps a great deal to have the access into Houston and Dallas. That region of the country is as rich with talent as ANY.
What is the CUSA's record against WAC Teams? Why is this CUSA poll even on the WAC board? The WAC may not survive the CUSA raid. That means schools with teams equal to or better than anything that CUSA has may get the privilege of becoming an independent. Why as a WAC Fan should I care about what CUSA does or any player in Texas?

So if UTEP gets the CUSA invitation then good by UTEP.
I would love UTEP to stay but if they get a CUSA invite they are gone.
La. Tech will join the Sun Belt which makes more sense anyways. La Tech is a fine school but travel costs and distance really hurts them.
Idaho will come into the WAC. Making the WAC an eight school conference.
That's what I hope happens for the future success of the WAC. Most of all I hope the schools in the WAC make a committment to the WAC. We can't be worried every time the MWC is rumored to expand. We need stability.
Speaking of which, somebody help me here but TCU left the WAC for CUSA because of travel costs. Now they are going to the MWC which would increase travel costs again, though not as much as the WAC. What am I missing here?
Hilldog, don't you ever sleep. I still don't understand why TCU would go to the MWC. I have heard all the arguments, but it seems to me their were more cons than pros. TCU does not "fit" in the MWC!!!!!

bob, you're absolutely right, but I've stopped expecting anything about college athletics to make sense. Any rational person wouldn't have TCU in the MWC, UTEP in C-USA, Boston College in the ACC, and South Florida in the Big East. But look at what we've got...
It's all totally irrational and completely about chasing down a dollar, whether it materializes or not.

I've heard several things related to that. The most credible one is that TCU boosters were pissed that they wre going to be in a conference with SMU again.
I've heard (from TCU alums) that Memphis & East Carolina wouldn't commit to CUSA and TCU was jumping ship before they HAD to jump ship.
But most TCU fans would tell you that the Middle of No Where Conference is a better option for them.

I wonder how their fans will like it after a few years of playing teams too far away to travel and teams that have no traditional rivalries......
Oh well, they still have the OOC games!!!
