This is the second game he's missed.. Hopefully he isn't hurt.. Im assuming Whipple is getting some serious minutes, so I guess some good can come out of it..

Writing from the bus back. Whipple didn't play well. He doesn't have any presence on the court. It seriously would have been a fighting chance if shaun played. (*...)

Alright. I'm gonna have to search high and low to find some positives. Our student section was better. Our free throws were not. Keonte should be banned from shooting ft's.

Ok I'm done. I gotta watch dane cook for 2 hours. Peace. Fun chillin with kr!

*edit, shaun was injured according to AP report, strained quadricepts*

Some positives on last nights game.

- Wooten caught fire which was nice after his last performance.

-Whipple got a lot of PT wich will only increase his chances of improving

-Jacobs seems to have played very well when he was on the court.

-Keonte seems to have played good other than his FT's. (which is expected)

-McConnell got his first start, although didn't play that many minutes..so not sure how much we can read into that.

Whatever the adjustments at halftime were, we sure could have used them at 16 min timeout in the first :)

Those are all positives, you are right, and there are others. You're not going to get better playing scrubs all the time. It's taking your medicine so you can get better.

Our biggest problem is we have only two players we can really depend on. That would be Stegall and Wooten. When your playing a team much better than you and you're missing one of your two solid guys, things can get tough. We need someone else on this team to step up and become a threat. Need that someone to be a solid addition this year and to take over as our playmaker next.

Quote:The Owls struggled offensively without leading scorer Shaun Stegall. He suffered a strained quadriceps muscle earlier this week. Kennesaw State shot only 33 percent from the field.

Shaun, I apologize.

RE: KSU Men's Basketball vs. Auburn Tuesday, Nov. 13th (Striped Crew Bus 40 SPOTS)
Made my first game of the year. Kennesaw hung tough in the first half until about 4-5 minutes a key play occurred. We were down 8 points, and finally got a steal and a 4 on 1 advantage. JMac proceded to turn it over and Auburn threw the ball back down the court and converted a layup. On the next possession Auburn stopped us and hit a three pointer I believe. The game turned from a potential 6 point or less game to 13 points in a matter of seconds. From that point on we were playing serious catchup.

Key factors of the game seemed to Auburn getting every loose ball and converting many of them into layups, and our lack of Stegall. We did not play a great game. I would love another shot at Auburn in a month. Mercer plays them December 19th (according to the Auburn scoreboard) and I think they will give Auburn more than they want from a guarantee.

With a healthy Shaun, I think we either win that game, or it comes down to the last few possessions. Our big man rotation was severely hurt having only JMac, Polo, and Jacobs. Definitely some good signs out of J.D. and Jacobs. Keonte had moments of dominance, and Ronell was shooting like normal again. This team is going to round into form come conference schedule time.

We are improving.
