I was nice and invited him to come to a game but also pointed out that he thinks more of Auburn than Lebo since Lebo didn't want to play us.

Maybe we should invite Donnie to a Blazertalk lunch. Have we invited media folks outside of Steve Irvine? While we are at it should we invite the triangle and dot to lunch?

Don Hawes is the sports director for NBC13.

Before arriving in Birmingham in August of 2005, Hawes spent 10 years as an award-winning Sports Director at WALA-TV in Mobile, Ala., where he won Associated Press awards for Best Sports Reporter and Best Sports Story. While in Mobile, Hawes also served as a sports talk show host at WNSP-FM. Don began his television career in South Bend, Ind., at WSBT-TV.

He was raised in Fraser, Mich., outside of Detroit and graduated from Central Michigan University.

Hawes and his wife Stacey have two children, son Will and daughter Kate.
