<a href='http://www.gomeangreen.com/board2/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=13890' target='_blank'>Arkstfan Quote</a>

Is this a credible source?

P.S.

Here is the quote that he put on the Mean Green Board:

The AD's have informed the presidents that UTEP is who they want.
UTEP has confirmed that they will accept if invited.

Unless the UT Board of Regents or CUSA presidents shocks us all, it is UTEP to CUSA.

Now this is scary. I have known (through the internet only) Mark (ArkStfan) for 5 or 6 years now. I use him as a reference for NCAA issues. He seldom spreads rumors. And he is seldom wrong.

I would really hate to lose UTEP to CUSA. It would be devistating to the WAC!

No disrespect to Mark, but I'm not going to buy internet speculation posted by a fan of a school that's not in either conference. This is about the 347,981st post claiming some kind of "insider information" on the subject.

He might be right, but I'm sure not taking it at face value.

What is the WAC going to do?

Down to 8 members with San Jose looking at dropping Football!

And LaTech hanging out by themselves in the East!

Idaho will be added as a quick fix.....the will happen!!

But to save the WAC, I think they will have to add 3 more teams from the SunBelt.

But which teams. UNT, La,La and who?

Maybe Mark is just having a bad day and wants to yank some Mean Green chains. Did he post that message on the Sun Belt board or anywhere else?

If LaTEch leaves or SJS drops football, Idaho will be added to take their place.
If we lose both, the WAC is screwed.

We can let LaTech join the SunBelt or it's over. To keep LaTech, the WAC will have to add at least 3 Sun Belt teams not counting Idaho.

I think Benson is moving on the Montana schools. The rumors last month that talks we going on quietly makes sense. San jose st. will be able to hang on IMHO. The Wac may actually end up in good shape if you look at the long haul

1. Fresno
2. Hawaii
3. San Jose
4. Boise
5. Nevada
6. Idaho
7. Utah State
8. NM State
9. Montana
10. Montana State

Throw in three or four bowl tie ins and its not a bad deal.

I ACTUALLY WOULD LOVE TO BE PART OF THAT WAC. WE HAVE A GREAT RIVALRY WITH THE MONTANA SCHOOLS. THAT WOULD BE A GREAT REGIONAL CONFERENCE, EXCEPT HAWAII!

I think the Montana schools would be a great addition, but I don't know if they could ever be pryed out of the Big Sky. Montana fans seem to be very content to be the Big fish in the little pond.

TopCoog is just kidding guys. No one would seriously consider the Montana schools for WAC membership.....
