Actual Capacity of Kelly-Shorts
25,000, tops; based upon what I saw on TV.

Either that, or we have the largest persons on the planet occupying the stands.

RE: Actual Capacity of Kelly-Shorts
Okie, I think we use the U of M model of measuring butt-width. Which is to say that anyone who wears more than a size 32" or 34" waist is taking up more than one "seat," so you may be onto something. It just has almost never mattered, since the stadium expanded, so we don't notice. In other words, 25,000 and change evenly distributed looks pretty darned full.

RE: Actual Capacity of Kelly-Shorts
That is exactly the case. I was friends with the former ticket manager and I asked him about this very topic. He said that the seat numbers in the stadium are spaced so closely together that each person's butt actually takes up about one-and-a-half seats... which is why if you guess the attendance based on what percentage of the stadium seems full, your guess will be higher than the actual count. Obviously, if you are in a section that is completely sold out and everyone with a ticket in that section actually shows up, you will not be taking up one-and-a-half seats, but this situation very rarely occurs. Basically, if you are sitting comfortably without being crammed in like sardines, you are probably taking up one-and-a-half seats. 20,000 people each taking up one-and-a-half seats makes a 30,000 seat stadium look full.
