Who won? Was it a competitive game? Any insights?

RE: Exh. Game results
5-2 win.

Windsor scored on their 2nd and 3rd shots on goal, though it took them 8 minutes or so to get those shots. Western had 12 in the 1st 10 minutes and 18 in the first period, but only got a 5x3 goal. Probably a combination of their goalie being on early and just not having a finishing touch yet.

2nd period was rather ugly. Couldn't even connect on passes for a minute at a time. Had 3 shots through 15 minutes, and the best chances (a pair of posts) were individual efforts and/or broken plays. They did tie the game in the final seconds of the period.

3rd period turned into the typical Western vs. Canadian U game. Couple quick goals, game turns chippy, couple players tossed with 3 minutes left.

I think WMU would have had a couple more goals, but Windsor probably took 20 penalties in the defensive zone.

Hard to really take anything from these games. I wouldn't be surprised if Culhane had hoped the game wouldn't have been as close to get Kuhn into live action, but Western didn't have a two goal lead until 10 minutes to play. He'll probably start a game vs. Bentley, if history is any reference. I think you get to dress more guys in exhibition too, because I think I saw 5 lines of forwards and 7-8 defensemen, too.

Campbell looked impressive at times... but it was against a pretty crappy team.

Thanks for the information. I am anxious for the season to finally start. Wish I could be there. Go Bronco's.

See my post on USCHO for the long version of what I thought. The short version is that I am very worried about the season after garbage I saw at Lawson on Saturday night.
