Update: a NewMag fan has said that my reading of their website is wrong (more and more probable with each passing day) and they have women's golf . . . giving the WAC9 (avec Idaho) 6 and sports sponsorship.

Now, if we could only find another men's track team.

WAC can survive and be stronger once a real unity takes place but we all know that is not going to happen.

I think it hurts WAC recruiting, TV, and booster support. I am too optimistic about the WAC's future. I am more worried about the WAC surviving the SJS keeping football.

thanks fr the info - so a conference needs 3 common men's sports (min 6 conference teams participating - or 8 in the case of fb) and 3 common women's sports. and as i read it - they have to be team sports - so track, tennis and golf do not count.

what about cross country? does that count?
and swimming/diving? do they count?

finally - if la-tech did drop out (dropping baseball to only 5 teams), does a denver addition solve this? i.e. does denver play baseball?

thanks again.

The sports you mention are all individual sports, not team sports like hockey, baseball, soccer, etc, so they do not count.
