Unfortunately Nevada LB Logan Carter had to quit football in the spring due to a degenerative arthritis condition. Big loss for the Nevada defense. I guess I'd probably replace him on this list with Jr. DE J.J. Milan.

I did not hear that! It is always sad to see someone so young that has to fight health issues for the rest of his life. Sports become very trivial when we deal with health issues.
I wish the best for Logan in his fight against this crippling health problem.

It is a very sad situation. Logan was a guy who lived for football and had been suffering from this condition since he was a Jr in high school. Unfortunately, the pain he suffered after each practice and game finally became too much.

"Junior starting LB Logan Carter has finally decided to end his football career after suffering through six-plus years of intense pain caused by degenerative arthritis (more specifically, a disease called ankylosing spondylitis). Logan, who missed two games last year and a ton of practice time due to the illness, began this spring with the intention of playing another season, but the pain in his back and hips became far too taxing on his body"

Can't blame him-- at some point you have to think about long-term health and beating his body certainly wasn't helping him (short or long term). I hope that Nevada is keeping him on scholarship somewhere though, so he can at least finish his degree.
