BOISE, Idaho – Boise State University will open its 2005 football season on the road when the Broncos travel to the University of Georgia to face the Bulldogs on September 3 (Saturday).

The game will mark Boise State's first football game in the Peach State and the fourth time the Broncos have played a team from the Southeastern Conference. Prior games against SEC opponents have come against the University of Arkansas and the University of South Carolina. Boise State is 0-2 against the Razorbacks and 0-1 against the Gamecocks.

Boise State is scheduled to play back-to-back road games to
open the 2005 schedule. Following their trip to Athens, Georgia, the Broncos will travel to Corvallis, Oregon, to face Oregon State University on September 10 (Saturday). The Oregon State contest will be the third in a four-game series with the Beavers. The final game in the series is scheduled to be played on September 9, 2006, at Bronco Stadium.

The Bronco's first home game of the 2005 season will be September 17 (Saturday) when Boise State begins a home and home series against
Bowling Green State University. Boise State returns the game in Bowling Green, Ohio, in 2006 on September 23 (Saturday).

In this year's pre-season rankings by Athlon Sports, Georgia is ranked third and Oregon State is ranked 22nd.

Hmmm... the Bayou Bucket (Rice vs. UH - Houston, that is) is currently set for that same day, so no Owls and no Coogs out east-ish. (Of course, that might change with the Rice move to C-USA, but who knows.)

If GA Tech is out of town on the 3rd, I wonder if OwlJacket would want to go out to Athens and cheer for some old WAC homies. Or at least boo UGA. :D
